As many of you who have found this page know, there was a radio broadcast of at least Voyeur through Heroes, which makes for a very strange and unsatisfying setlist. If you're a devoted fan of this tour or Outside, seek it out - otherwise, there are much better moments to re-live. bg

I pretty much agree with Electric Blue's comment, but still, this was (unexpectedly) an incredibly important experience to me. I've waited for that day since I was 13. Hate to admit what a large part of my identity is, well, Bowie-inspired. It was wonderful. What can I say, Bowie is Bowie. By the way, almost every Israeli musician was there, everywhere you looked was packed with people who usually wouldn't bother to leave home, not to mention mix with mer mortals. Was amusing.

For me, David Bowie in Israel was a dream comes true. It was a great show in a very hot day. David realy gave his best.

I did see this concert last year, and I must say it wasn't a particularly great one. I was disappointed because it was too short and no encore. Bowie also seemed to ignore the audience, no interaction whatsoever. I don't think it was because of the audience, because most of the people were enthusiastic and sang along much of the time. However there were a few kids about 15 years old standing near me who didn't seem to know any of Bowie's stuff except Outside, and when the band started playing "Under Pressure" one of these kids asked his friends why is Bowie doing "Ice Ice Baby"... That was particularly annoying. I stood very far from the stage and I could actually see David only on the video screen. And now that I've seen a few concerts of the Earthling tour in the USA, the Tel-Aviv concert completely dwarfs compared to them. David should continue to do these small-venue concerts rather than parks. There were about 20000 people in the Tel-Aviv concert and something of the concert gets lost in such huge numbers... Now Franky, about Bowie not coming to Israel again this year, I think this has to do with Earthling sales in Israel more than anything else. I don't really know the sales numbers, but in most CD shops in Israel that I've been to you can get Earthling for 39 shekel, which is really cheap - even cheaper than prices in the USA and UK. And that means that they probably had to reduce the price because it just doesn't sell here. And you can't expect Bowie to do the Earthling tour in places where Earthling is not popular. Well, let's hope this will change for the next tour :)

I didn't get to see the concert, I was very very sadened. Now Bowie has refused to come back and I shall remain concertless... Do you think Bowie ever comes here? If he does or if anyone would like to comment on the Bowie/Israel situation... please write me. I am now, with a group of supporters, in action trying to get any attention to this problem.. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you all :) bye from a David Admirer, Franky DeCactus.
