David and Iman's first child together, daughter Alexandria Zahra Jones was born at 5:06 a.m. on August 15, 2000. Weighing 7 lbs, 4.6 oz, David helped with the delivery and cut the umbilical cord. Alexandria means "defender of mankind" while Zahra means "inner light". Jones is the legal surname of Bowie.
In celebration of the event, an online baby card has been set up where Teenage Wildlifers can send their message of congratulations to the whole Bowie family. This online card will be collected for the next couple of weeks, and then packaged into a single downloadable package which will be sent to Bowie personally.
