• Zachary Alford: Bowie drummer on the Outside tour and Earthling album. Previously was the drummer for the B-52s (see the Loveshack video), and also played with Billy Joel on River of Dreams and with Bruce Springsteen.
• Carlos Alomar: Longtime Bowie rhythm guitarist who first linked up with Bowie in 1974, co-wrote Fame, and continued through to 1987, then appeared again on the Outside album in 1995.
• Laurie Anderson: Singer and songwriter of O Superman, which Bowie & band covered during the Dublin Earthling rehearsal.
• Kevin Armstrong: guitarist who played with Tin Machine on their 1989 tour, and also was on Iggy Pop's Blah Blah Blah album.

• Angelo Badalamenti: keyboardist and vocalist who performed with Bowie on the Gershwin cover A Foggy Day In London Town.
• Beck: 1990's rock star who remixed Seven from Bowie's 'hours...' album.
• Jeff Beck: Legendary guitarist who played with Bowie on his Ziggy Farewell Concert in 1973.
• Adrian Belew: Lead guitarist with Bowie during the 70s/80s.
• Frank Black: Ex-member of the The Pixies, who performed live with Bowie at his 50th Birthday show.
• Marc Bolan: Lead singer of T-Rex and fellow Bowie glam-rocker during the early 70's.
• Trevor Bolder: Bass player in the Spiders from Mars.
• Everett Bradley: Percussionist on Seven.

• Sterling Campbell: Drummer on the Outside and 'hours...' albums.
• Billy Corgan: Frontman for Smashing Pumpkins, and performed live with Bowie at his 50th Birthday show.

• Dennis Davis: Drummer who performed with Bowie starting on the Station To Station album, and continuing through Scary Monsters.
• Tony DeFries: Legendary and infamous Bowie manager from the early 1970s. Formed the Mainman company around Bowie's successful Ziggy Stardust through Diamond Dogs period before eventually parting ways with Bowie during Young Americans (although DeFries' agreements remained in effect for many years afterward earning him a tidy income).
• Marius de Vries: Producer, programmer and remixer who worked on the single mix of Survive, released in 2000.
• Gail-Ann Dorsey: Bass player who joined Bowie's band beginning with the 1995 Outside tour.

• Scott Engel: Original birthname (and songwriting name) of Scott Walker.
• Brian Eno: Member of Roxy Music, later sonic collaborator on the Berlin trilogy and producer of the Outside album.

• Bryan Ferry: Member of Roxy Music, writer of the song If There Is Something.
• Herbie Flowers: Bassist for Bowie on various projects from 1969 through 1974.
• Rick Foxx: Keyboardist on the 1990 Sound+Vision tour.
• Peter Frampton: legendary rock guitarist who played with Bowie on the Never Let Me Down album and Glass Spider tour.
• Robert Fripp: guitarist on the title track of "Heroes" and much of Scary Monsters.

• Reeves Gabrels: Bowie's lead guitarist and co-writer of many songs since 1988, starting with Tin Machine.
• Brendan Gallagher: guitarist on the Marius deVries remix of Survive.
• Ricky Gardiner: Guitarist on the Low album, co-writer of Neighbourhood Threat David Bowie and Iggy Pop, and also toured on the Idiot tour with Bowie and Iggy Pop in 1977.
• Mike Garson: Keyboard player for Bowie, best known for his work on the Aladdin Sane album, and then later again on the Outside tour and Earthling tour
• Lisa Germano: musician and vocalist to appear on Bowie's album of remade 60's songs.
• Philip Glass: Modern classical composer who reworked songs from the Low and "Heroes" albums into his own Low Symphony and "Heroes" Symphony
• Goldie: Drum and bass proponent who collaborated with Bowie for one song on his album Saturnz Return, released in 1998
• Emm Gryner: Backing vocalist on the mini-tour for 'hours...'

• Page Hamilton: Guitarist on the 'hours...' promotional tour in 1999. Ex-member of Helmet.
• George Harrison: Legendary member of the Beatles. Writer of Try Some, Buy Some.
• Chris Haskett: Guitarist on the 'hours...' album.
• Stacey Heydon: Lead guitarist on the Station To Station tour.
• Mick Hodges: Drummer on the 1990 Sound+Vision tour.
• Ian Hunter: Frontman for Mott The Hoople, most closely associated with Bowie for their roar to fame with All The Young Dudes, a song which Bowie wrote for the group.

• Elton John: Glam rock icon of the early 70's (although Bowie's relationship with John seems to have been icy). Performed Love Song on his 1971 Tumbleweed album.

• Tony Kaye: keyboardist on the Station To Station tour. Previously a founding member of the band Yes, from 1969-1972 and again from 1982-1995.
• Erdal Kizilcay: Multi-talented musician and co-credited writer on some tracks with Bowie starting with Never Let Me Down, and most recently including Outside.
• Kraftwerk: German electronic band which inspired much of the Low trilogy.
• Lenny Kravitz: Provided guitar for one track on The Buddha Of Suburbia.

• Will Lee: bass guitarist on the Labyrinth soundtrack. Probably best known as the bass player for David Letterman's talk show band.
• John Lennon: Original member of The Beatles, and of course one of the most famous popular musicians of all time. Murdered in New York City in 1980. Co-wrote Fame with Bowie and Carlos Alomar in 1975 and also supplied Across The Universe for the same album.
• Gerry Leonard: guitarist with Duncan Sheik who plays on one track of the Toy album.
• Mike Levesque: Drummer on the 'hours...' album.

• Sean Mayes: keyboardist with Bowie on the 1978 Heroes tour and subsequent Stage and Lodger albums. Mayes died in 1995, but his tour notes and memories were later translated into the 1999 We Can Be Heroes book which documents the 1978 tour as well as the recording of the Lodger album.
• Sid McGinnis: guitarist on the Never Let Me Down album. Probably best known as the guitarist for David Letterman's talk show band.
• Freddie Mercury: Lead vocalist for the rock group Queen. Died of AIDS in 1991?. David sang at his tribute concert.
• Moby: Electronica pioneer who remixed Bowie's Dead Man Walking single in 1997 as well as kept up a close relationship with Bowie in the New York music scene.
• Moody Blues: Classic English rock group who provided the song Go Now which Tin Machine covered during their 1991 tour.
• Morrissey: Ex-singer with The Smiths. Provided I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday for David's Black Tie White Noise album, and also toured with Bowie on the UK leg of the Outside tour.
• George Murray: Bass player who performed with Bowie starting on the Station To Station album, and continuing through Scary Monsters.

• Anthony Newley: English singer and multifaceted performer who was heavily influential on Bowie's early songwriting and singing career.
• Nine Inch Nails: Techno-industrial group which opened for Bowie on the Outside Tour in the USA. Fronted by Trent Reznor.

• Jimmy Osterberg: Original name of Iggy Pop.
• Tony Oursler: Artist responsible for the projected video images on dummies head used in the Little Wonder video and also during Bowie's Earthling tour.

• Holly Palmer: Backing vocalist on Thursday's Child and the mini-tour for 'hours...'.
• Guy Peellaert: Belgian artist who created the original artwork for the Diamond Dogs album.
• Pet Shop Boys: Remixed single version of Hallo Spaceboy.
• The Pixies: Late 80's popular band, fronted by Frank Black, and a favourite of Bowie's. Tin Machine would often cover the Pixie's song Debaser during their live concerts.
• Placebo: Support band for much of the summer European leg of the Earthling tour and also at the 50th birthday concert. Also dueted with Bowie on stage at their 199 New York concert.
• Mark Plati: Coproducer of the Earthling album, together with cowriting credits, remixes and various edits of the Bowie songs.
• Iggy Pop: Superstar rock artist. First associated with Bowie when David produced Iggy and the Stooge's Raw Power album. Later worked with Bowie on Lust for Life and The Idiot during the Berlin years (1977-79), and again with Blah Blah Blah in 1986.
• Prick: Industrial band that opened for Bowie on the Outside tour.

• Queen: British mega rock group featuring lead vocalist Freddie Mercury. Joined up with David to record the hit single Under Pressure

• Rex Ray: Graphic designer of the 'hours...' album and promotional artwork.
• Lou Reed: Member of the The Velvet Underground, and collaborator with Bowie for Reed's Transformer album. Bowie also made a habit of doing covers of Reed songs in concert such as White Light White Heat and Waiting For The Man
• Trent Reznor: Lead singer and main force behind Nine Inch Nails.
• Mick Rock: Official Bowie photographer during the 70s.
• Nile Rodgers: Producer of Bowie's Let's Dance and Black Tie White Noise albums, and member/writer/producer of 70's influential funk/disco band Chic.
• Carmine Rojas: bass player with Bowie on various albums and tours from the 80s.
• Mick Ronson: Legendary Ziggy-era Bowie guitarist. Died of liver cancer April 29, 1993.
• Biff Rose: Songwriter and performer of Fill Your Heart which Bowie covered on the Hunky Dory album.
• Roxy Music: Classic British glam rock band including Bryan Ferry and Brian Eno.

• Hunt Sales: Drummer (and son of Soupy Sales) for Tin Machine.
• Tony Sales: Bassist (and son of Soupy Sales) for Tin Machine.
• Peter Schwartz: Musical director and keyboardist for most of the Outside Tour. Also musical director and keyboardist for the Black Tie White Noise promotional tour in 1993. Has also worked with Madonna, Enya, Hanson and Pet Shop Boys.
• Ken Scott: Producer of Bowie's Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane and Pin Ups albums.
• Floria Sigismondi: Director of Bowie's Little Wonder and Dead Man Walking videos (as well as being famous for Marilyn Manson's The Beautiful People).
• George Simms: Backing vocalist on the Serious Moonlight tour.
• George Simms: Backing vocalist on the Outside Tour, and also the Serious Moonlight tour.
• Earl Slick: Lead guitarist on two of the tracks on Young Americans and all of Station To Station, as well as guitarist on the 1974 Diamond Dogs Tour and 1983 Serious Moonlight Tour.
• Bruce Springsteen: Rock legend, who Bowie met in the early/mid 70's, and which resulted in Bowie covering two Springsteen songs Growing Up and It's Hard To Be A Saint In THe City.
• Walter Stern: Music video director who directed Bowie's Thursday's Child video from the 'hours...' album. Previously worked with Massive Attack, Madonna, Moby and The Prodigy.
• Steve Strange: Eighties rock star in Visage (best known for their hit Fade to Grey) and one of the actors in Bowie's groundbreaking video Ashes To Ashes.

• Julien Temple: Director of Bowie's famous 24 minute long Blue Jean video and Absolute Beginners.
• Tin Machine: The grunge-rock group which Bowie formed in the late 80s with Reeves Gabrels, Hunt Sales and Tony Sales.
• Pete Townshend: Lead guitarist and primary songwriter for The Who, one of David's early inspirations.

• The Velvet Underground: Proto punk band in the late 60's, early 70's which greatly influenced Bowie, especially lead singer Lou Reed.
• Tony Visconti: Perhaps the most famous Bowie producer, responsible for many of Bowie's 70s albums. Also played bass on some recordings and a number of live performances.

• Scott Walker: Singer/songwriter who prospered in the UK mostly in the 1960's (songwriting name given as his birthname Scott Engel). One of Bowie's favourites, with Bowie doing a cover of his song Nite Flights in 1993.
• The Who: Mega British rock band fronted by guitarist and song writer Pete Townshend. One of David's inspirations, leading him to cover I Can't Explain on the Pinups album.
• Mick Woodmansey: Drummer in the Spiders from Mars.

• Neil Young: Rock legend who wrote I've Been Waiting For You, which Tin Machine covered on their 1991 tour.
