EVIL PONGI A CELEBRITY CULT LEADER IN HOLLYWOOD!!! new [re: robpongi]

Well, the rumors have been confirmed and Evil Pongi is, in fact, a very wealthy celebrity cult leader living in a secret multi-million dollar mansion complex in Beverly Hills, California. Evil Pongi and his loyal following, known as "Evil Pongi's Pongiyangs" who, apparently, worship the man, like a god, obeying his every order, no matter how ridiculous, are now aggressively recruiting both "V.I.P." and "Slave" members to join the Hollywood House of Evil Celebrity Cult. Residents of the Mulholland Drive area are advised to remain indoors as much as possible and use extreme caution when going outside. Stay tuned for more on this developing story.

"The Golden Pavilion Video" - Big Hit in new [re: robpongi]

FLASH NEWS: "The Golden Pavilion Video" is now a Top Ten Feature on WeShow Brazil:

WeShow (Edição Brasil) - Vídeo: O Pavilhão Dourado de Kyoto (Notified July 22, 2007)

Below is part of an official email I received just last night:

"WeShow is honored to announce that this video has been selected among millions on the internet to be ONE OF THE TEN BEST videos of the month in Brazil. Check it out this week on the WeShow Awards BR Edition (the biggest worldwide online video award), shown on channel Viagens & Destinos>Outros Destinos>Ásia, to watch your video and other competing videos – and vote on your favorites. Our congratulations and good luck!"

The WeShow.com Team

Well, I guess we now have officially graduated from Roppongi (?!?!) JEEBUS! BRAZIL! Well, I must say that this is, indeed, one of the very highest levels of official recognition that I have ever received. You see, from the very beginning, way back in the summer of 2000, one of my biggest goals was to promote cross-cultural awareness and insight on Asia and Asian culture of all kinds as well as entertain as a wacky and caricature clown character. And, of course, some of the segments are only just fun and games - but not all of them. So, I am very dubiously honored by this acknowledgment and, of course, very, very happy to have achieved some level of one of my most important objectives and reasons for getting into and staying so active in web video production for all these years!

Also, I have to note that this video was filmed on March 12, 2004 which was, of course, the day after Mr. David Bowie's final Japan show of the Reality world tour. And for sure, a big part of that show was most definitely inside my old Sony PC-5 hand-held!

Stay tuned! <*@v@*>

Kinkakuji new [re: robpongi]

Do you spend much time in Kyoto, Rob?

I live in Osaka but my girlfriend lives in Kyoto: Right now I'm lying on her bed in Shijo while she is taking an exam!

I bet people can't wait to read my memoirs

DOUMO ARIGATOU! :O) new [re: Remade/Remodeled]

Thank you very much too_dozy and Remade/Remodeled!

I really appreciate it and I am still a state of disbelief and wonder over this latest development! I have been to Kyoto many times. Its just such a beautiful city and the people there are just so very nice. Compared to Tokyo, its like another country! Really, its true and I would love to live there someday!

But also, I got very lucky on the day of the shoot as I was told by some others that it was supposed to rain but, fortunately, it did not. And also it was a very overcast and a grey sky colored day which helped limit shadows and excess luminosity etc. And because it was not such a nice day, and that it was forecasted to rain, the Golden Pavilion Temple grounds were not as crowded as usual. So I was able to get good shots pretty quickly without any unwanted walk-throughs and sudden interruptions by large tour groups etc. Kyoto is an incredibly beautiful city that has several magnificent world heritage sites. But, because of that, it is always so very crowded and not easy to shoot at all. Thanks again.

Stay tuned!

Rob Pongi Crowned 'Celebrity Caricature' new [re: robpongi]

FLASH NEWS: Rob Pongi was recently included as a celebrity caricature by the world-famous weblog Google Blogoscoped (Discovered 08-05-07):

About Google Blogoscoped

Google Blogoscoped covers Google and the tech world, more or less daily since 2003......Google Blogoscoped has become a true community effort over time through the participation of many, many people, including Tony Ruscoe (co-editor), Ionut Alex. Chitu, Colin Colehour, /pd, Mambo, Orli Yakuel, Manoj Nahar, Sohil, David Hetfield...

The blog and the forum cover new Google product releases, contain tutorials and tips, information on Google censorship methods, and 20% random weirdness (the blog also spawned a book). Google is the focus here because the company and its tools have a growing impact on people's life – for better or worse. The Google search engine serves as a pair of eyes in a virtual world, and I think we'd all like a clear view.

This blog is featured in charts such as the Technorati Top 100, is a Google News source, and is also available in Chinese. Mark Draughn of Windypundit.com once called it "One of the most interesting technical sites on the web," and Vittorio Del Percio from Lugano, Switzerland, said it's "... the first source of info I check daily in the morning when I arrive at my desk in the office."

Japanese Bon Odori Dance Video 2007 #2 new [re: robpongi]

Hello Again TW Happies!

Well, I am very happy to present you with a truly extraordinary video which has an impact that I cannot fully describe or express in mere words of any language.

This is the very exciting sequel to the recently released Japanese Bon Odori Dance Video 2007 which is simply entitled: Japanese Bon Odori Dance Video 2007 #2 And this video actually features two short 'Bon Odori' dance styles. The first being a very slow and somewhat eerie march, but then about halfway through, the music tempo suddenly picks up quickly and it all changes into a very uplifting and truly moving Japanese dance performance! This one, is, indeed, the most favorite video I have ever made and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed making it for you!

Check it out: Japanese Bon Odori Dance Video 2007 #2

Stay tuned for more!
