At this moment I prefer this kind of music.

I'd also like to know why they omit the verse about Bowie and Station to Station from the live version.

I noticed that too – thanks for confirming it. I thought I must have missed it and was waiting for a copy of the downunder recording to check it out.

Are you listening? Are you listening? Is your volume up? Is your power on? To your solar system at the speed of sound. Which way does your antenna go? On your radio. This is rock and roll.

show withdrawals new [re: johnnysitar]

I haven't been to a concert since last April... I forced the now-ex to fly to NYC to see the Siouxsie and the Banshees 7 Year Itch Reunion Tour.... which was the first time I've ever seen SATB live [and since they're still officially split up, probably the only time].... ummm before that, I saw Siouxsie with The Creatures 4 times in 1 year....
It's sick.. when I moved to Memphis I thought there'd be some decent shows at least every once in a while.... nope
well, other than the Sonic Youth shows...

suckling at reality like a babe in arms at a landslide I tasted a tear between the lips of a godless man and I said: 'surely this is what I've wanted all the days of my years'...

Re: show withdrawals new [re: narcissus]

I saw S&TB in 77 supporting Johnny Thunder's Heartbreakers. The thing I remember most about them was that Siouxsie had the most amazing rainbow eyeshadow (I was that close to the stage). It must have taken ages to put on.

I was right at the front of the stage later when Johnny Thunders came on. It was a low stage and the bouncers were lined-up at the front, keeping people off the stage. Fortunately I knew the bouncers so that, when I got pushed right up onto the stage and sat down (I had no choice), they didn't hassle me. Just then Johnny Thunders walks on smoking a joint, and hands it to me! It was way cool.

Radioactivity, is in the air for you and me new [re: -ANON-]

Yeap, I've got it. I've actually got all Kraftwerk albums except Kraftwerk 1, Ralf und Florian (those haven't been officially released on CD), Electric Café (heard it, though) and The Mix. Radioactivity actually isn't one of my favourite KW albums. It's good, but not brilliant like Autobahn or TEE.

This really makes me hate Stu all the more.

We play in the dark, so the music would just be there.

I've got a tender heart new [re: johnnysitar]

Two weekends ago already, I made the (3 hour) pilgrimage to Kansas City to see Eleni Mandell perform at a small bar (Davey's Uptown) in the Westport area and she was fabulous live - everything I could have hoped for. My only complaint was that her set was so short at only an hour. Most of the songs were from her newest release Country for True Lovers and as the title suggests, it's a lot more country influenced than her previous work. I might even be so bold as to recommend it to p2c (there's song samples at the site if interested). After the show, I got to meet her which was great and we got our picture snapped together (me on left). She's a well kept secret with incredible singing/songwriting talent.

I am Jack's complete lack of surprise

I haven't seen any bands since area2 last July. But, I'm going to see Queens of the Stone Age and Turbonegro tomorrow. That's going to be one hell of a show.

Well, I saw Placebo on the 10th, and before that the last show I saw was Bowie's in October.

I'm feeling very blah and don't want to go anywhere lately. I intended to see Placebo again in April, but... eh.

Is there anything particularly good happening in May in Europe that I should go see? Something good enough to make it worth the effort?
