Alright, have been at university for a couple of hours studying in preperation for today's lecture (Dahl on 'The Constitution as a Model', Amy on 'The Case for Proportional Representitive Elections in the United States' and Savard on 'Democracy', if you must know) and am now here for an hour or so.
I almost posted without clocking in... I'll get a written warning next time.
But seriously, folks...

I don't get why you people seem to have problems with punks.
I suppose it does depend on the sort of punk. I think the line should be drawn when it becomes a lifestyle, as opposed to a musical preference. The same is true of goths, too. Skinheads are slightly different, since their branch of politics is generally unacceptable in any form of expression.

Depends on your definition of 'skinhead'. I'm a skinhead. I don't hold any 'unacceptable' political views. I'm a socialist, big deal. In fact, most of the other skins I know have more or less the same political views. There are groups of extreme right wing and extreme left wing skins, but they're not as common. But it is those groups that get all the publicity and spoil it for the rest of us.

First, thanks for everyone who took to this thread and ran the joke into the ground. It wasn't a one-man job, so the help is appreciated.
Second, I'm clocking out for a week or so to go to California for Thanksgiving.

I've always taken it to refer to shaved-head facists/neoNazis, since that's invariably the context it's used in.

Well, some people do think any form of socialism is unacceptable but that's not what I was getting at. I've never heard of a left-wing skinhead before.

See, as well as being a right-wing group, "skin head" is also a hair style. Sinnead O'Connor and Gail Anne-Dorsey aren't your typical romper-stompers, are they.

Yeah, the right-wing neo-nazi skinhead image is pretty much a complete contradiction of traditional skinhead beliefs. Instead of explaining it all here, just PM me if you want to know more.

I'm always logged in unless it just mysteriously throws me off which happens sometimes when i forget to go through that stupid sequencing thing with the computer to shut it down and just push the button to turn it off. (uh-oh...) I check in sometimes four times a day just because i have no life and......and yea, that's all. Ahhhh....horrible to be a prisoner in your own home.

Typical facists, perverting icons of the left.
