Because it's a twat of an alter ego of a twat whom prefers the weakness of disclosing no information about itself whilst gathering information about real users so that it is able to rip into those real users, who are are unable to retort in a positive manner because they have no information about the twat.

I've done it myself with alter egos, especially shyster, and it's been done (better) by many others in TW's existence.

Which makes it old hat and really fucking boring.

Far be it from me to detract from the legend of Shyster - who, I'll grant you, was probably the best shit-talking alter I've seen at TW - but I think Nom deserves some credit, as he's stuck to it pretty well over the years, and can still occasionally get someone (usually me) to rise to the bait.

On the other hand, I've never done the Alter with an Attitude bit myself - most of the people worth insulting here know how to take it with aplomb and bite back fairly - so maybe it's not quite as praiseworth an effort as I may have thought.
