That doesn't make the poll a sham - it makes one of the 'contestants' within it a sham. And, unless I've missed something extremely significant, I don't remember any of these being 'self-confessed alters'. I know b_mardle has altered his username and suchlike, but so has K - and I doubt you'd call him an alter ego of Syisyo.

Besides, surely the inclusion of any alter egos ought to mean you have less change of being voted the 'Most Annoying Brit'. And for future reference, taking a definition straight from a dictionary does not count as a good retort.
