Interesting question all right.

Probably because being new in these parts, we don't know what the rules are on How Not To Appear Like An Alter Ego.

So we make all sorts of "mistakes" which "prove" that we're alter egos. Whereas the real alter egos created by the long time abusers here don't make those mistakes, because they know what they are in advance.

Or else the Powers That Be here are so keen to maintain the status quo that the whole "You're an alter" thing is just a ploy to bore newcomers away.
