Insano Love Songs vol. 3 new [re: Marquis]

Nothing changed for this one on my end except to correct the lyrics which the site I went to had wrong. Did I mention that Khaela Maricich is my dreamlover?

The Blow - "Fists Up!"

i have tried
my hopes have blossomed
and my hopes have fried,
i tried to cut them all down
but i found hopes were still living deep inside,
like a team of renegade lovers
working long hours sneaking around
with a belief in the life of our love,
like a light at the end at the end
of a long tunnel; a struggle

fist up!
for all their faith in what they've seen in your face,
they really do believe that if
they hang on long enough
that you'll come around
and finally let it show
and all their hopes will be rewarded
for their impetus to grow,
a utopian peace would fall across the land
you'll reach over for my hand,
you'll really want to hold my hand

And i don't want to come to the point of this song,
because the point of this song
would have to be so long.

It gets hard:
the vigilantes can't agree on who's in charge,
they gave their souls for the cause
but the love that they were after is still at large
see this faith in which they found allegiance
ripping at the seams as hope is running it's course
the rebels just cant muster the force
to walk the thin line between belief and delusion
and

fists up! for all their faith
in what they've seen in your face
they really did believe
that if they'd hung on long enough
that you'd come around
and finally let it show
and all their hopes would be rewarded
for their impetus to grow
utopian peace would fall across the land
you'd reach over for my hand,
you'd really want to hold my hand

and i don't want to come to the point of this song because the point of this song would happen to be so long

It was perfectly normal
with just one little problem
the fact that it turns out
you don't really want it
my love is a fortress,
my love is a Louvre
but it cant ever thrive
if i'm forced to keep proving it.

That's genious and you're stupid.

Re: Insano Love Songs vol. 3 new [re: Marquis]

man, what is it about soul-crushing love songs that's so great? i'm intrigued by these last two...

the first one reminds me of a zombies' tune. i always wonder if his constant sorrow is from many girls or one girl in particular...

there's bourbon on the breath of the singer you love so much
he takes all his words from the books that you don't read anyway

swansea new [re: Marquis]

joanna newsom...(keep in mind she'd playing the harp!)

if you want to come on down,
down with your bones so white,
and watch the freight trains pound
into the wild, wild night

how i would love to gnaw,
gnaw on your bones so white,
and watch as the freight trains paw,
paw at the wild, wild night

all these ghost towns, wreathed in old loam
assateague knee-deep in seafoam
ho swansea! buttonwillow!
lagunitas! ho calico!

and all these beastly bungalows
stare, distend, like endless toads
endlessly hop down the road
borne by wind, we southward blow

while yonder, wild and blue,
the wild blue yonder looms
'till we are wracked with rheum,
by roads, and by songs entombed

and all we want to do
is chew, and chew, and chew!
dear one, drive on,
when all we want to do
is chew, and chew, and chew

and if you want to come on down
down with your bones so white
watch while the freight trains pound
into the wild, wild night

how i would love to gnaw
to gnaw on your bones so white,
and watch while the freight trains paw,
paw at the wild, wild night.

there's bourbon on the breath of the singer you love so much
he takes all his words from the books that you don't read anyway

This song make-a me cry...

"Fanatic Heart" - Black 47

I remember your eyes from the 12th of July
When the sirens were screamin' and the flames lit the sky
And you held me so tight, thought you'd never let go
'Til the bullets exploded on the pavement below
And I laid you down next to a burnt out car
Screamed out for help but you were gone too far
Still got that picture of you locked away from the start
Developing inside my fanatic heart

I went around in a daze for a couple of years
With the blood in my veins frozen over with tears
And I did anything that they asked me to do
'Cause all I could see was that picture of you
And the young ones passin' by'd say, "how's about ya - real hard man"
Deep down inside I was just a castle of sand
Still had that picture of you locked away from the start
Developing inside my fanatic heart

Then they took me inside, threw me up against a wall
They put electric prods on my chest and my balls
And they told me to sign things that I knew weren't true
And in the end I did what they told me to do
Then they locked me up and threw away the key
And left me there with just your memory...

Now I walk through New York like a grey silhouette
Tryin' hard to remember what I'm supposed to forget
That look in your eyes on the 12th of July
When the sirens were screamin' and the flames lit the sky
Hey I sleep with other women and I hold them through the night
'Cause all I want to do is just get on with my life
But that picture of you won't let me make a new start
It's frozen inside my fanatic heart

As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.

My ever cheerful mood new [re: JarethsGirl]

Elvis Costello & The Attractions - Battered Old Bird

The landlady's husband came up to town today
Since he left them both ten years ago to serve the ministry
The dark down road of his approach in constant rain was drenched
The tenant's boy said "How d'ya do" then swore in French
Did you teach this little child these curses on my soul
You should both be shut down in the coal-hole
That's the way to treat a child who cries out in the night
And a woman who teaches wrong from right

Chorus: He's a Battered Old Bird
And he's living up there
There's a place where time stands still
If you keep taking those little pink pills

"Hush your mouth you hypocrite"
His humour cut her deep
The tight lipped leer of judgement
That had seen her love desert her just like sleep
"Filthy words on children's lips are better, my dear spouse
Then if I were to speak my mind about this house"

Chorus

On the first floor there are two old maids
Each one wishing that the other was afraid
And next door to them is a man so mild
'Til he chopped off the head of a visitor's child
He danced upon the bonfire
Swallowed sleeping pills like dreams
With a bottle of sweet sherry that everything redeems

Chorus

And on the second floor is the Macintosh Man
He's in his overcoats more than out of them
And the typewriter's rattling all through the night
He's burgundy for breakfast tight
He says "One day I'll throw away all of my cares
And it is always Christmas in a cupboard at the top of the stairs"

Chorus

"Well here's a boy if ever there was
Who's going to do big things
That's what they all say and that's how the trouble begins
I've seen them rise and fall
Been through their big deals and smalls
He'd better have a dream that goes beyond four walls"
You think he should be sent outside playing with the traffic
When pieces of him are already scattered in the attic

I don't get along with myself
And I'm not too keen on anyone else
