Seeking a guide to Roxy Music's.. music

OK, I've never been too fond of Roxy Music. Shame on me. But I thought of giving them a second chance and got For Your Pleasure. I love it! Especially 'Do The Strand', yummy

So, to all Roxy specialists here, what should I get next? I've read that Country Life and Avalon are awesome. The latter I know a bit from Bill Murray's rendition of 'More Than This', which is heartwrecking, of course.

Also, I love Ferry's Bete Noire, if only for the fantabulous cover art. One of the bestest ever. Is Ferry an OK guy or an asshole?

I'd get the eponymous album and Avalon first. While every one of Roxy's records is worth every penny, those are easily the best ones, along with For your pleasure.

Ferry's solo work is much patchier but you can't go wrong with Frantic and Boys and Girls. Also, some of his cover albums are immensely good.

I only have Avalon. But I don't think that really mirrors the style what Roxy Music really is if I listen to e.g. Velvet Goldmine.

Let the cool Goddes rust away.

Well my favourite album is Siren.

My claim to fame is that I went to the same University as Bryan Ferry and in fact stayed at the same Halls of residence.

I'm also a big Roxy Music / Brian Ferry fan, have been for years, as to what to buy? I'd say buy the lot when you can afford it overtime of course, some albums suit the evenings/nightime more imo, yes even the Brian Ferry solo albums are good, enjoy

Ferry is most certainly an OK guy, his son is the complete asshole, he's in favour of bloodsports and caused a commotion in our houses of parliament once, getting himself and his wealthy loons arrested and fined, total prat imo

There's at least 3-4 tracks on each of their studio albums that, to the discerning ear, will get on ones tits in some way.

Just get a compilation of greatest hits & have done with.

Ferry is a weasel. He's just a voice. Any album without Eno in it is crap. Take my word for it.

You see, darling...my ass does belong on your face! You just don't know it yet.
