Some say if you have enough of it, getting raped in the ass by a grizzly bear for two weeks is painless.
Well, that's essentially how I feel about life - full of loneliness, and misery, and suffering, and unhappiness - and it's all over much too quickly.

I've always chosen my first meal based on strict nutrition/diet. Historically, that's meant a high fibre tasteless cereal but this year I've gone high protein instead - bacon and eggs every single day this year.

Believe it or not, I've been eating that to lose weight and it's worked (13 kgs down so far) but the key has been carb free.
The only exception this year was my time in Hong Kong where I had a dish called congee which is a type of Chinese Rice Porridge (not cereal based). It's actually pretty good:

Great news, wish I could lose 13 kgs, not that I'm that overweight as such, but it does slow you down, plus the older we become, the harder to lose the weight.

Never heard of that, but it looks nice, do you eat it hot or cold?

It was always hot when I had it.
Chinese food (and hot rice) is not usually something that we Westerners would associate with breakfast foods but it was actually pretty good.
