Your favourite Guns N' Roses song

When I was in high school (around 1991), most boys in my class were shaggy, stupid GN'R fans. At the time, I was too busy listening to my Queen tapes to pay much attention to other bands and I think I was considered a weirdo for not listening to GN'R at all. I even noticed when Freddie Mercury died for Christ sake! (I must have been the only one who knew who he was)
However, I heard a few GN'R songs then that were not too bad, so the other day I decided to download the "Use your illusion" albums and I find the following tunes quite good:
- Locomotive - Estranged - Coma
On the other hand, many songs are so crappy it's hard not to burst out laughing when hearing them (I'm thinking "Get in the ring" and "Back off bitch" here).
Now what do you think? Any fans here?
Well, that's essentially how I feel about life - full of loneliness, and misery, and suffering, and unhappiness - and it's all over much too quickly.

They were my first (and arguably only major) musical pillar before Bowie.

Estranged
That might be their finest - and the only GNR song to make my recent top 200 songs. Also from the Illusions, I love 'Civil War', 'Live and Let Die', 'Coma', 'You Could Be Mine' and even 'November Rain' (before it was overplayed).

This one. A politically aware song that even Dylan would have wanted to write.
One In A Million
1,2,1,2,3,4 (Whistle) Guess I needed sometime to get away I needed some piece of mind Some piece of mind that'll stay So I thumbed it down to Sixth and L.A. Maybe a Greyhound could be my way
Police and Niggers, that's right Get out of my way Don't need to buy none of your Gold chains today I don't need no bracelets Clamped in front of my back Just need my ticket; 'til then Won't you cut me some slack?
You're one in a million Yeah, that's what you are You're one in a million, babe You're a shooting star Maybe someday we'll see you Before you make us cry You know we tried to reach you But you were much too high Much too high, much too high, Much too high, yes, ow!
Immigrants and faggots They make no sense to me They come to our country And think they'll do as they please Like start some mini Iran, Or spread some fuckin' disease They talk so many goddamn ways It's all Greek to me
Well some say I'm lazy And others say that's just me Some say I'm crazy I guess I'll always be But it's been such a long time Since I knew right from wrong It's all the means to an end, I I keep it movin' along
You're one in a million Oo, you're a shooting star You're one in a million, babe You know that you are Maybe someday we'll see you, Oo oh, Before you make us cry You know we tried to reach you But you were much too high Much too high, Oo, much too high Yeah, Much too high, huh, no, no, oh Ow!
Radicals and Racists Don't point your finger at me I'm a small town white boy Just tryin' to make ends meet Don't need your religion Don't watch that much T.V. Just makin' my livin', baby Well that's enough for me
You're one in a million Yeah that's what you are You're one in a million, babe You're a shooting star Maybe someday we'll see you Before you make us cry You know we tried to reach you But you were much too high Much too high, ow, much too high, Much too high, much too high Yeah, yeee, yeah, yeee, igh! Ow! Much too high (Oh, much too high, ah, much too high, ah, much too high much too high, ow, much too high)
I will drug you and fuck you On the permafrost

I'll do that, thanks. Then I'll watch their performance of "Bohemian rhapsody", Axl hand in hand with Elton. That was cute.

I used to be a big G'N'R fan but Axel's voice pretty much grates on my nerves now. Sweet Child'O Mine is the best thing they ever did. They probably never topped their first album for consistency. My favorites on it are Child, Mr. Brownstone and Rocket Queen.
I also like One in A MIllion and Used to Love her- from their second album. The acoustic side is much better than the concert material on "G'N"R Lies".
I like Don't Damn Me, The Garden, and Coma From Illusion 1, but November Rain was a bit overblown for me. It reminds me too much of Layla at the end of it.
Estranged, Civil War,You Could Be Mine and My World from Illusion 2, but I hardly ever listen to them anymore. I think the covers are awful. Knocking on Heaven's Door is the worst version I've heard of its many covers. The video to Estranged IS pretty cringe worthy. I never heard Spaghetti Incident and I didn't like their cover of Sympathy for the Devil at all.
