Idiosyncrasies

You know - those little quirks in life, we all have 'em.

One of mine is to always exit a building the same way as I entered it.

Just a nuance

Re: Idiosyncrasies new [re: Strawman]

Couldn't possibly list all mine, what with having OCD, I find myself having to do everyday househould chores 3 times, leaving buildings the same was an entering is also one of these.

Eating at the same time everyday, most breakfast and lunch are excatly the same food everyday, dinner times I do vary meals, to unfair on my partner.

Christ, how does one keep to a schedule like that? I only eat when I'm hungry, so I usually tuck into something extremely edible about twelve times a day.

Just a nuance

No seriously, please don't flood the thread with your idiosyncrasy tales all at once!

I never fucking realised I was dealing with such perfection!

It's not like there hasn't been plenty of you logged in either - there's anisette with her finger up her arse checking who's online all day, Ziggfried is a complete fucking mystery, monkeyboy & p2c only ever reply to their own or Americanised threads and Adam seldom joins in with anything 'less it's Bowie orientated.

Just a nuance

It's just part and parcel of having OCD, you just have to do it or one becomes very agitated, I work mostly nights, so I change meal times twice a week, but it works for me, I know it sounds terribly restricting, but i'm so used to it now.

God! you've a good appetite.

Re: Idiosyncrasies [re: Strawman]

My mind has its' own concept of order, so I find myself often repositioning a knick-knack or pillow that was moved out of its' true place (as my mind sees it). I can't walk by a crooked picture w/o straightening it. Can't walk by an open mailbox w/o closing it. I suppose this is akin to OCD, but it's never interfered with my life at large, so I don't give a damn. Besides, it gives my pals something to laugh about.

It is my opinion and I am unanimous in this, because it is my opinion, which is, in fact, mine.

It's a wonder nobodies ever accused you of trying to steal their mail.

We have our letter boxes built in the front door here in blighty - a much better system I feel.

He didn't say "Idiot"syncrasies duhduhzzz [re: Strawman]

You mean besides stopping the car no matter where I am, where I'm going, or who I'm with to take pictures of cranes?

Well, there's this little thing where I'm disinclined to use multiples of 5. You know, most people set the microwave, or whatever, for 15 or 30 or 45 secomds. I set if for 29 or 37 or 44 or 49. I mean, those are some pretty good numbers aren't they?

Re: Idiosyncrasies [re: Strawman]

It is a wonder, but I can't say I can recall a time when anyone was actually paying attention to me doing such a deed. Land of the brain-dead, indeed.

Our old house had a mail slot next to the front door, which I loved. The new one has the mailbox at the curb, which I really don't care for. All those stories of mail thefts for identity theft purposes.

I've actually been meaning to check in w/our local post office about moving our box to a door-slot type. I fully expect to be turned down, but have no idea why it should be a problem.

It is my opinion and I am unanimous in this, because it is my opinion, which is, in fact, mine.

Syn crazy after all these years [re: Strawman]

I love to fill my mouth with as much dry bread as I can (no butter, no crusts), then pour in some milk. The taste as the milk hits the bread and softens it is to die for. So when I turn up dead some day choked on a mouth full of bread with a bottle of milk in my hand, you'll know what it was about.

Slan libh,

Dara
