Re: Book about obsession with David - late '70s, U new [re: mickmccann]

That's it. I'm suing.

Your Amazon review karma isn't doing very good.

This book is wonderful. It changed my life in every way because as someone who was also a big fag in the 70's, I thought I was alone. That is except for all the guys I was blowing. Other than that, though...totally alone. It was hard to be such a groundbreaker...a real original, you know. Nobody else in the world was dressing just like the musicians that were becoming popular. Not even the musicians themselves.

But I can't give this book a good rating because the author himself called me a nigger on a Bowie fansite.

The end.

I sense a bit of sarcasm there. I'm guessing this is a new thing for you.

Slightly hungover and gassy but nothing I can't handle. Thanks 4 askin'! How are you today, Mick?

Have you logged out since yesterday or are you watching the real time mad dash for your book. It is the Christmas season, after all.

And I wanted to ask if that was a picture of you on the front cover. Is it? Or did you find some other homo to pose?

No Monkeyboy, I have slept and everything.

Not too concerned about sales really, had a good couple of weeks.

I am indeed the confused heterosexual gayboy on the front cover - I know, what a twat.

I'm off to cook tea, hopefully, speak to you later, friend.

Mick,

You better get more reactive to my making fun of you or I might have to start liking you. This would be a real blow to my positive self image since you are: a) clearly a total homo, b) new, and c) a self-published author pimping his wares on Teenage Wildlife.

Don't make me post Tubgirl again. I'll so do it.

Bastard, how can you say I'm self-published author pimping my wares on Teenage Wildlife. How dare you?

That's a disgusting thing to say, I've never published anything in my life.

I have mocked up a few book covers just to pretend that I'm an interesting, artist type, but in the real world I've never written a thing..

Oh yeah, I've heard that about Leeds.

Mind you, if you're keen on nutters you should enjoy TW (as you've no doubt noticed by now).

Try driving through Headingley, Jees everytime I go through my head is at 180 degrees and I plough into the car infront.

My insurance has a must not drive through student areas clause.

Re: Book about obsession with David - late '70s, U new [re: mickmccann]

It's a helluva long time since I was in Leeds (1992), but funnily enough the last time I was there I almost had a car crash. I was taking some mates to the station and you come to this junction where there are about six, several lane, roads all controlled by traffic lights, radiating off this big open space in the middle. Not being very familiar with the place when the lights turned green I went to turn left, only to have it pointed out to me by my suddenly rather agitated companions, that I was trying to head the wrong-way down a one-way street. The drivers coming towards me were no less agitated. Fortunately it was a Sunday morning and fairly quiet so I was able to do a quick swerve and head in a safer direction. Had I tried this manoeuvre 24 hours later I would probably have been in a smash.
