I accidentally rated Footloose as "craptastic" when I actually wanted to rate it "crap" so please, everyone, make the mental correction (-1 craptastic, +1 crap) when reviewing the results.

Why didn't John Hinkley Jr. go after Rick Astley? That's what I'd like to know.

That was fun. Actually, I ended up ranking most of the choices "Craptastic," in some cases agonizing a bit before settling. I really loved the '80s. Those were some of my formative years, after all. The only ones I rated "Crap" were "Footloose," "Hello," and "Jack and Diane."

I agonized over:

"Uptown Girl," but I went for "Craptastic" because I couldn't get the image of Homer Simpson's devotion to it out of my mind.

"U Can't Touch This." In all fairness, this would have been "crap" if I didn't adore Hammer from his appearance on "Surreal Life."

"Never Gonna Give You Up" has to be craptastic 'cause of the fact that Rick Astley is a short, skinny white man.

"Summer of '69" reminds me of good times, so I'm biased on that front.

I'm surprised I'm the first to give a positive rating to "Like a Virgin." C'mon, folks, that's a freakin' classic.

Sometimes I feel the need to move on. So I pack a bag and move on.

I can't believe I left out the hair metal!
