In reply to:
Dude, you're the one bringing it up and dragging it out.
the forum has been far to placid lately.
In reply to:
I assure you my thinking he was "never really gay" has nothing to do with any sort of homophobia or unwillingness to accept others' sexuality. In fact, I have been trying to convince plenty of my male friends that they are gay despite their total non-cooperation.
Your male or do you just wanna watch? My advice is to get them in touch with their 'little bit bi' sides..
[yeah i know i just backflipped on it.]
In reply to:
Are we still talking about Flea and Anthony here?
Anthony.
In reply to:
They said they really wanted to be gay, and tried their hardest, but found they weren't made for it--they never claimed to be gay.
ergo.. experimenting.
In reply to:
As for Bowie, well gee, he said that he was "gay and always has been" while married and expecting a child, so that tells you how much he cared for strict accuracy of terms at the time. (By your own definition, that would make him at most bisexual.)
very bisexual?
In reply to:
Well, that's why most people give up on it then. But really, you can't imagine someone being so seduced by the idea of a particular type of romance that they throw themselves into it hoping it will work, somehow?
nope. have to be turned on by it or i'd find something that would.
In reply to:
But yes, yes, Bowie experimented with his "bi side" and then chose the straight. Because his bi side was like, nearly non-existent when it came to the nitty gritty.
drugs might have helped a little.

What, did he try to use that new "Glue-bricant" everyone's talking about?
They let the retard in the game and he went wild.

You're all missing the point here: Mika has made a classic album. He's in the same league as Freddie and George.
There is so much to be ungrateful for.

The sad thing is, I can't even tell how serious you're being. Partially because Freddie and George are two entirely different registers for me, partly because I haven't actually listened to Mika's whole album, and partially because I have a tendency for quickie infatuations with the most random songs, especially when their singer looks like that.

I was trying to recall why the name sounded so familar; I realized I saw on FUSE that he was compared to queen and george micheal.
Never heard him sing but for that clip but it sounded wonderful.
But..the comparisons in themself sound gay, yeah.

You know, honestly, he's not even that gay. I seriously don't see it. He's pretty, he's British, he's cheeky and playful, but... I mean, come on. After a few glam rock vids he seems understated, not flamboyant. I'm not saying anything about where my personal gaydar may or may not place him, but I don't quite see what it is that has everyone tripping over themselves to yell "gay gay gay!" at him.

I think you need to listen to the album. Some of the lyrics are very revealing. Take Billy Brown, for example:
Oh Billy Brown had lived an ordinary life. Two kids, a dog, and a cautionary wife. While it was all going according to plan Then Billy Brown fell in love with another man. He met his lover almost every single day Making excuses through his (dodly) holiday (Unto religion that he said and duty found They didn’t know his faith was (earthlic) bound)
Brown…Oh Billy Brown. Don’t let the stars get you down. Don’t let the waves let you drown. Brown…Oh Billy Brown. Gonna pick you up like a paper cup. Gonna shake the water out of every nook. Oh Billy Brown.
Oh Billy Brown needed a place, somewhere to go. He found an island off the coast of Mexico Leaving his lover and his family behind. Oh Billy Brown needed to find some peace of mind. And on his journey and his travels on the way, He met a girlie who was brave enough to say, When they made love he shared the burden of his mind. Oh Billy Brown you are a victim of the times.
Brown…Oh Billy Brown. Don’t let the stars get you down. Don’t let the waves let you drown. Brown…Oh Billy Brown. Gonna pick you up like a paper cup. Gonna shake the water out of every nook. Oh Billy Brown. Brown…Oh Billy Brown. Gonna pick you up like a paper cup. Gonna shake the water out of every nook. Oh Billy Brown.
Oh Billy Brown had lived an ordinary life. Two kids, a dog, and a cautionary wife. While it was all going according to plan Then Billy Brown fell in love with another man
