What's your primary source of new music? new

The web offers ever new ways of hearing music and finding stuff you haven't heard before. Me, I used to be a Pandora junkie until the site blocked my country and I haven't gotten around to creating a fake US address (which I think is what it takes).
Besides, I almost felt that I had exhausted Pandora -- typically you would get a few dozens of songs played over and over in a channel. Nevertheless, it let me discover some great new artists.
So right now I discovered the music player on Facebook. Just check in the most recently added songs every day and click on everything that tickles your interest - so far, I had a great time doing that. Only, you typically end up with the bands and songs you already knew. And there is lots of Timbaland and Nickelback to skip by.
My latest favourite song is "Blood to bleed" by Rise Against (makes me feel like 20 again... I know ), which I discovered on Facebook courtesy of someone who mislabeled it as Rage against the Machine.
...and of course, for actually getting new albums -- ahead of release date -- there is soulseek.

It's LABRYNTH, idiot!

I still listen to a hand-held wireless, 'though it sounds just the same when you're not holding it....

axis of evil new [re: Emil]

i use an unholy combination of pitchfork, stylus, myspace, recommendations from friends/the hot releases thread here (particularly tips from marquis-marq) and allmusic new releases- critically speaking, i don't trust them after the bad review of think tank and the new modest mouse without even mentioning the presence of johnny marr but it's a good way to triangulate the reviews from the other two.

rise against are pretty fucking awful, emil... are you sure you're feeling ok?

Right, when I checked the band out, it seemed like none of their other songs get to me like that particular one did - as a whole it's pretty average hardcore, yes. Still like "Blood to bleed".

Should I add that Swedish public service radio was one of the best places to hear new stuff, until they adopted this new policy that young listeners are best attracted by inane chatter and chart music instead of quality music and documentaries, as it used to be. I blame our new conservative government.

stab me two times if you love me new [re: Emil]

I’ve just recently gotten into the Swedish brother & sister duo The Knife. I’ve downloaded ‘Deep Cuts’ & ‘Silent Shout’. What’s your take on these guys, Emil?

Trying to navigate TW reminds me of what it was like having dial-up service.

Lately I have just been looking for music that is new to me. You tube has been good for this but now I'm gonna look into face books thing.

Ive tried Myspace and band pages but they seem pretty limited.
