What you scored

Here's where you get to boast about the best Christmas present you got this year.

Maybe even post a picture.

Here's mine:

What a kick in the balls to all the fans who bought the previous season sets (me included), to see a more comprehensive set being released. I wonder if another Peaks box-set in the future will contain the five and a half hour cut of Fire Walk with Me.

Here's where I need help: I can't make up my mind between buying myself an Olympic White Strat, or a Fiesta Red. Each is made by a boutique builder and has better tone than Fender.

The red one reminds me of British rock and pop like Rebel Rebel. I'm afraid the white one will not inspire me to write. What songs can you write on a white guitar?

Re: What you scored new [re: to_dizzy]

White is definitely a show guitar. But then, should you be writing music on your best guitar? Definitely on a good guitar, but I think you should always have something a little bit better on hand for show time. The improved sound will give you extra confidence when you need it the most.

Among others, but I don't want to bore you!

I particularly enjoyed the Black 47 cut. I got Larry Kirwan's "Green Suede Shoes" last year and the companion disc, and it took me a while to get into it because I didn't dig Kirwan's voice, at first. But, hell if it ain't infectious. I started noticing subtle nuances in his vocal expression that I really appreciated, and his writing skills.. Songs and otherwise.

I got a whole lotta love for a rock star in glasses.

Well, you're welcome to come round ours any time and have a closer look. And play with them if you so desire.

But yeah, they're a little on the small side for me. I might have to upgrade. Get her some implants for her next birthday. Or mine, since I don't actually know when hers is.

It's possible I'm not feeding her properly. This is my first time as well as hers so it's a learning experience all round.

Thing is I spent most of the wife budget I'd allocated on collars, chains and other jewellery, so I might be skimping a bit in the food department. But with her being from eastern Europe and all, and this being the United States, I figured our dog food would be plenty good enough for her. Probably a lot better than gourmet food back in the old country.

Hmmm, you have a point. Not just from the way she looks, but also the way she acts, I'm starting to think that I may not be the only one who lied about their age to the agency.

Cool, I guess.

I have to warn you though: she doesn't have much of a personality, poor thing. Though maybe that'll change when she learns more English. For now, the only words she seems to know are "No", "Stop", "Please don't" and "Ow".

I'll inform her of your interest in her. Drop me a PM, we should get to know each other better, so I can feel comfortable sending you more pictures of her and inviting you rounds ours to "meet" her.

I've already told her that once she's settled in, I'll start inviting friends around to "meet" her so she can get to "know" more Americans.

Well, technically, we're not exactly husband and wife, since I never bothered going through with the legal niceties. I was supposed to bring her to the registry office straight from the arport, but we came straight here instead.

So technically I guess she's an illegal alien once her holiday visa runs out. So if I ever do tire of her, I can probably just have her deported back to whatever backward eastern European country she hails from (one of the S's I think). Probably wouldn't even need to pay for the ticket. How cool a deal is that?
