The Official 2009 Dead Pool Thread new [re: ]

Post yer picks. Remember the rules: 10 picks maximum. When they die we subtract their age from 100 to determine point value. You're allowed to pick people with terminal illnesses but I'll call you a fag if you do. (Did we ever come up with a rule dealing with terminal illnesses?)

100 points is not enough. Dutch actor Jopie Heesters, who just recently claimed that Hitler was not a bad bloke, is 105 years of age and on my list. I suggest 120 points to deduct from. That should cover all guesses.

This is the point system that we agreed to a few years ago and it has worked fine for everyone but you. So I'm not saying that there's something wrong with you, but your lack of creativity isn't really our problem. Alright, maybe there is something wrong with you. But the point is that just because you suck at a game doesn't mean that we need to change everything to make it easier for you. Are there any more ways I can put this?

If you insist on being a dick then I suggest that we make the number of years they live past 100 a negative score. So this old dude would bring you a whopping -5 points. Picking someone based purely on their age is missing the point of the game entirely and such a lack of vision should be discouraged. Then again, I shouldn't be all that shocked that you, EJ, are displaying a staggering lack of originality .

Hm, here you are disappointing me slightly. Firstly that man in question is 105 years old, still acting and a die hard in the truest sense. Secondly he has reaffirmed his deal with the devil just recently, as stated by me, which makes it even more unlikely that he will leave this planet soon. But you cannot grasp everything so quickly, so you are excused.

Re: The latest dead celebrity new [re: WildWind]

So, that's 9 points for beatled (with that old painter who probably never existed) and 3 points for me.

Now we really need Amy Winehouse to do something for us. Or we should consider betting on Russian journalists next year.

Robert McNamara died, too, so Beatled gets more points:

This one actually makes me very, very sad.

Les Paul dead at 94.

I never got to see him live, either.

Those weirdos at TW.. new [re: WildWind]

You brought my attention to him on this thread.

At that time, I was thinking he must have been the world's oldest living - and still performing - popular musician. He was 4 years older than Pete Seeger who turned 90 in May this year.

A mate of mine has a Les Paul guitar. Perhaps he will play it today.

I did quite like him as a Senator new [re: Monkeyboy]

RIP, Senator Kennedy.

I'm happy to have gotten some points (23), although I'm a bit annoyed with myself for picking someone someone else had already picked. I didn't notice Ted Kennedy on like three people's lists when I picked mine.

Hey everyone.

I'm typing through Whoopie Goldberg right now. This is awesome.

Swayze Fun Fact: Patrick Swayze was born with an extra pair of testicles. Rather than having them removed, they were surgically tucked within pockets in his buttocks so that he'd always have a spare set.

And of course:

Should we give the pansies who bet on Swayze their 43 points?
No way
Let's give them 21.5 points
Let's take 43 points away from them cheaters!
Let's put Invicible on the stereo and have a good laugh instead

Looking for a new tip for the Dead Pool?

Texan contacts say "George H W Bush".

I went to a restaurant that serves 'breakfast at any time'. So I ordered French Toast during the Renaissance.
