Woodstock 2009

Apparently a big German media agency is planning a second Woodstock festival, consisting of two open air events, one in New York and one in Berlin. The line up is supposed to be as close to the original as possible. Are there enough Woodstockers still alive?
Here is more. Go to the bottom of the page.

Slight correction: Apparently the agency is not organising the event, it is selling the advertising and promotion around the festivals.

I hope Jimi Hendrix and Amy Winehouse will be there.

Whatever. It's the next one then.
I just had a quick look at the 1999 one, didn't look much like the line up was close to the original.

Woodstock '99: The War and Hate Festival

Oh how far we'd come. What Limp Bizkit, Rage Against The Machine, Megadeath and Metallica were doing at a 'Woodstock' festival is anyone's guess. Combine that audience of meatheads with the excruciating weather, extortionist prices, lack of facilities, the asshole capital of the world (New York) and you're set for one giant disaster.

Sticking to the original artists and style is a much better idea and hopefully they can turn around the '99 one completely.
Looks like this could finally be your chance to see Neil Young, EJ!

I am sure something will again prevent me from seeing him. As usual.

I got tickets for Neil's show here in Berlin in mid June. Hope there's nothing preventing me from going this time.
And there's another act from my all time heroes list which eventually I'll be seeing live this summer: Kraftwerk are playing this year's Hurricane Festival! And with Nick Cave another artist which I havne't seen live yet will be there as well. Faith No More, Moby, Nine Inch Nails, Pixies, Franz Ferdinand I have seen before but I am sure they won't be spoling the weekend either. And the Ting Tings coud be fun.
Still no Green Day though.
