I am having no joy with this.

It says the size limit of the photo must be 65x75 so I tried adding in my TW profile photo but that's defaulted to 75x100 so it won't take it. ggrrrrrr

I have no other means of doing this or is there a way around this?

You should sign up for a bit of web space with a free host, then you can make a reference back to a photo on your homepage. http://www.homepage.com have a neat system for quickly setting up home pages and uploading photos. Otherwise, you could try Einar's method suggested above.
