Well, it was relevant when the fora were vibrant, active communities with multiple ongoing discussions. If someone wanted to discuss something that had been discussed before, it would be better for them to find the previous discussion, where much wit and wisdom from forum vets was already on display. The alternative would have been the witty and wise form vets repeating themselves over and over again, which would have been neither fun for the vets nor productive for anyone.
But I've said all this before.
