A Suggestion About Those That Make 'Hello' Threads
|
|

Ban them. On sight.
Can anyone name me a worthwhile contributor that started their TW career with such a thread?
I could be a genius if I just put my mind to it.

Hello Twister. You do like to ban things, don't you? You wouldn't be a grandson or something of the late Mrs Mary Whitehouse, would you? She was very keen on banning things. I think granny Mary would be proud of you.

Meh. Can't we put up a TW Netiquette Rules book somewhere? It doesn't have to have many rules, but No Pointless Hello Threads should be one of them.
Not that I don't like newbies. In fact, I try to be nicer to them than most other posters. And they tend to liven things up. But really, hello threads rarely contribute anything (hamster actually being a rarity in that he tried to make his interesting and engender discourse), and it's so annoying when there are a bunch of them floating about, all saying nothing. Especially since it's quite possible that the poster who made such a fuss about themselves will get tired of TW in a week or so and not post anyway.

I second that. Although they should be compiled by Adam, not Twister!

I agree. I think that there should be a Netiquette rulebook made. and twister would make it to where noone but him could post. I dont doubt it. And since Adams the person who sort of runs things on the site - im pretty sure - he should write it.

Ha ha ha! A laughing gnome!
I don't remember my first post either, but it wasn't "hello". In my traditional manner of philosophical reflection, however, I wonder what's more pointless, a hello thread or a thread about banning hello threads when anyone who's going to post a hello thread will probably never read this one because it will disappear into the archives before they show up to post their hello thread.
Well, twister?
