Funny the way you can never shut up about things you profess to not "give a fuck about". How empty your life must be.
I could be a genius if I just put my mind to it.

I don't believe it could be as empty as yours.

I never really considered this till power2charm stated it repeatedly -
(it being his policy, and that which he believes to be the correct policy, and that which I have adopted on the basis of moral agreement rather than peer pressure, as you should also)
It is bad form to 'out' an 'alter-ego', or 'multiple-identity'.
For the health of the message board, and the maintenance of 'in-jokes', and *so* many more reasons...
I think at least some of us (er, just me) have observed this for several years, but this rule, irrc, predates the emergence of ultra-sucky alter egos which began with the invasion of Karmastarman &c.
If it's evident that virtually everyone disapproves of such alter egos, should we puncture their crappy personae early on, or continue to allow those kindly/good-hearted/retarded TWers who answer their beck and call to interact with them? (Later, I believe p2c advised that perpetrators of 'naive' alter egos should take a razor and bleed neatly into the sink, though he said nothing of their disclosure.)
And in case the answer is they should remain concealed, I hasten to add that this question is not at all prompted by recent posts in the fora.

There are so very few 'new' members signing up to TW at the moment. I am referring to true TW virgins as opposed to characters or existing members in disguise.
I remember taking a break once before, coming back and being confronted with dozens of outspoken newbies who thought they ruled the roost. But this time, returning after a three year hiatus, I barely see a new avatar. Maybe it has something to do with the alleged difficulty in signing up to TW, or maybe due to the lack of new Bowie material on the horizon, or perhaps because of the relative blandness of DBs recent work (there, I said it!).
Regardless, there aren't many of innocent or naive that we remember. The 'troll-bait', if you will. Back when this thread was written they were here in droves and TW was a different place.
As a result, the purpose (and use) of the alter-ego has somewhat changed.
I say it is and it's true

I think that outing an alter is very bad form. I've stopped using all of mine, but still. As for the bad ones, they weed themselves out in time.
Please visit my Message Board so I can ban you.

Yeah, sorry. I meant by the 'naive' alter ego that the alter ego itself posed naive questions, not that they were designed to suck in naive/gullible TWers (although they do that too, and not just newbies). My post could be read either way (and, ironically, so can your answer, so I'm not sure if we're on the same wavelength or not.) The naive alter ego is somewhat akin to Dogz Syndrome, where the character simply asks questions for the sake of asking them, although they know the answer already, because the option of 'not posting' is so unbearable to them. Unlike Dogz, though, the user normally goes the extra mile of creating an entirely new account so not to defile their good name. In the case of the 'naives', even being 'in' on the joke rarely make them less annoying.
Anyway, two nays is good enough.

You're way too clever for this site Matt. I sincerely hope you never become an acolyte. It would completely ruin your character.

When 99.9% of the sites members are extremely left & gay, isn't that something of a given?
