just think about all the people who never make their way here to the boards cause they see the main page and think that its a dead site. I also feel sorry for the new people here who have never seen TW in its full glory.

Seriously, I saw Evan in June. He's fine. I mean, he still has that syndrome thingy, but it's not like he's bedridden with one foot in the grave.

Basically, he doesn't have the time to keep the site up as diligently as he used to. When there's something really big, it gets updated, and lyrics and so forth are put up to keep the site complete, but the day-to-day trivia just isn't so important when you're a working adult and all. The fora run themselves and anything that's of particular interest will get around. When was the last time any of y'all missed out on something because it wasn't on the TW front page?

I've heard it said before, though I can't remember where, that rather than being a "news" site, TW functions as an excellent research site, to the extent that the critical historical and reference information is there. The beauty of that is that daily updates aren't required, only updates on major events, which are maintained.

As far as discouraging new members...well, let's just say that I don't think attracting new members is much of a priority.

Sure, it would be nice if the site were updated more frequently, but frankly I think it's wholly unimportant.

They are indeed. But what about lyrics for two songs by Bowie and Rustic Overtones? What about new releases of Ziggy Stardust Motion Picture? What about Best Of Bowie being mentioned only in NEWS? There is lot of Bowie stuff which is not available here.

But it eventually gets floated here because I've gotten information from here when 5-10 minutes later, someone comes up to tell me. So I do not worry about it too much.

Updates aren't important...enything new, rumour or otherwise comes up in the NV&Q board about a year before it's even been announced anyway, so...what's the problem?

Just remember that not every single fan who visits Teenage Wildlife is an active member of Conversation Piece. I've been visiting TW since 1998, but I became a member and started posting on CP in mid 2000.

Yes, but it would be nice if the new releases would be updated to the music-section. According to TW, the last single Bowie released was Seven back in 2000. I know that we all know it isn't so, but it would be nice to see the list completed, the fact it isn't complete devaluates the site. Also, we are missing much of the lirycs on the songs from the new singles. Like Evan says himself in the music page, that section is the meat of the site. It should be kept up to date.
