Why was my free association game thread locked? Seems to me everyone else is allowed to start whatever bullshit thread they want too.

That type of threads have traditionally gotten locked.

Did Monkeyboy's "one word post" thread get locked, though? I suggested that it should, it would have been only fair. It had equally little, or perhaps less, actual content and value than the usual randomness threads.

I'd kind of like to know why myself. On other message boards that I have been to, threads were only locked when they turned nasty and involved two people reducing themselves to very personal and foul mouthed attacks on each other -- something that happens here all the time without anyone doing anything. Yet your thread got locked for no apparent reason what-so-ever. I would say that perhaps such threads always wind up too "blue" in the end, and that this is why the mods simply jumped the gun and cut it short -- but as I mentioned earlier, I find it hard to believe that this would make any difference to them considering the over-abundance of vile language used here already. So what's the deal? I think a proper explanation is in order.

It was locked because one-word posts are generally frowned upon. They eat up bandwidth and are totally useless. Most other threads of that kind have also been locked. A poster who once flooded the board with one-word posts was banned.

Maybe if I write this now, while drunk, you'll all understand.
