you're always first on the line

1 - find a picture you like.
2 - use a picture editing program to make it 65 pixels times 75 pixels in size. You can make different size if you wish, but then TW will resize it automatically and it'll end up looking poorer than it does if you resize it yourself.
3 - Find a website in which to host the picture. Photobucket is an excellent free service for picture hosting.
4 - After getting the picture online, come to TW. Go to Edit profile -> basic profile. Near the end of the page there is a field for 'your picture'. Enter the url of the picture here.
5 - You should now have a working avatar.

Fuck me! I was just thinking about how to ask that with out people saying that all I ever did was ask how to do stuff, which so far, seems to be the case. Thanks you two. Now....if i could only find a picture I like, hmmm

I like holding stuff.

This has probably been mentioned before, but couldn't we have a sticky thread in feedback which gives advice on things like avatars, putting pictures in posts and also bowie related things like BOB easter eggs, etc? It would be a huge help to new people, I was lucky to have a someone I struck a conversation with who guided me through the quote function, avatars etc (Thanks Myriada).

Just a thought.

Hello and welcome to the TeenageWildlife messageboards. Making posts simply to see whether or not an avatar is working is frowned upon here. It clutters the boards unnecessarily, and, like all posts, makes the pages load more slowly for all users. Though this is an attribute shared by all posts, this type of post contributes nothing to the community and is of interest to no one except its creator. Also, we have a finite amount of webspace which is paid for solely by our webmaster.

If you want to check an avatar, simply click on your screen name and view your profile. If you have an avatar, it will be visible in your profile and will appear exactly as it does in your posts.

I hope you find this advice useful and enjoy your stay.
