It's just an aide-memoire. As I've already explained here and elsewhere, I don't remember half the people here from one day to the next. With most of the ones whom I do remember, I do so because they're antagonistic towards me. So, in order that I may be well-armed to deal with their antagonism, I keep track of their details so that I can, if possible, use said information to undermine them at any indeterminate future point. My profession is documentation. In that context, there's nothing unusual about it at all. People who work to maintain IT systems keep logs. People who work in accounting keep books. I work as a writer, so I write things down if I need to remember them.

Here's an idea - if you're so desperate for my attention/approval, don't have a go at me. It'll work wonders.

I think I've pinpointed exactly what it is that confuses me about you, Stu. See, you can dish it out with the best of them. Or, at least, you never hesitate to be antagonistic and smarmy. And I admire you for it for the most part, because I always find that being a cantankerous dick is the easiest thing to get across on a message board.

The difference, though, is that you seem to have an exceptionally low tolerance for criticism, or indeed for someone making a joke at your expense. The rest of us assholes, I suspect, live for being sniped at as much as we do the sniping. We certainly don't get all bent out of shape when someone 'sides' with one of our 'enemies.'

Oh well. I suppose this post will have run out the meter on our reserves of mutual good-will, and that I'll be chalked back up on the Big Board. Its too bad, because I have come to truly enjoy your bizarre paranoia.
