Giving Dap new [re: pablopicasso]

In reply to:

his entire purpose is to spread the gospel of rap while high.

You're thinking of me. The difference? I luv Biggie. I also am high a greater percentage of the time, a claim I make not out of pride, but out of realism. Though come to think of it, since I can only really post at work these days, I'm probably only high about 30% of the time I post.

In reply to:

just what your contribution is to the board, besides that is, looking down your nose at people and being under the false assumption that you are in some way superior to others?

His contribution is being a level-headed guy with good taste who listens when I go off on rants about Dangermouse and in return urges me to get over my disaffection for Krautrock. Beyond that, what real contribution do any of us make?

Sadness is for poor people.

Could you please tell me, considering you are so adept in showing other people's failings and contributions, just what your contribution is to the board, besides that is, looking down your nose at people and being under the false assumption that you are in some way superior to others?

What more do you need?

Calm down darling. new [re: White Prism]

In reply to:

I remember one particularly mind-numbing exchange with Doltedogz74 where we argued with each other for 30 odd posts or so (I canít remember which thread now) but by the end I had restated my position (somewhat unnecessarily) innumerable times and Iím pretty sure that, even though he was speaking in another language, my message finally got through.

Well after wiping away tears of laffter from eyes, thank you shiteprism, for giving me the best laff in weeks

I do remember the occasion, and you were wrong, yet again.

See you in church

I sport the grossest fangs in show biz new [re: 96dbFreak]

See, here's a perfect example of where we could use some clarity:

In reply to:

I think the problem is that some people, and you Americans in particular, are too polite. You go to the bathroom instead of the toilet. You'll be in a public place and ask for the "bathroom" or "restroom". What, do you want to take a bath? Have a nice lie down? Or are you just busting for a crap? See? I come from the north of England and now live in Australia. In both societies we speak plainly. We don't couch our meaning in euphemism to hide our embarrassment. What seem to you to be "spiteful" is in fact, just me being natural (and naturally humorous). Jesus you people would freak if you had to try to get by in the real world (and no, Americaland is not the real world). Yes, I know it's a difficult concept to grasp, just like laughing at something funny without being prompted to do so by a machine.

Now going on what you've said before, I'm going to assume that this is all meant in the spirit of light-hearted Stu-brand fun. Reading it, however, it seems awfully angry (not to mention xenophobic; that works both ways, Stuart), not at all like someone 'taking the piss' as you say.

So I propose that from now on you can italicize all the parts of your posts that are meant to be taken as jokes, and leave plain the rest. Or vice versa. Something, anything, that will indicate an attempt at humor.

See, I'm not sure I need a laugh-track to tell me when something's funny, but it *does* help when it actually *is* funny.

And I know all the roller coasters and cotton candy and foam Uncle Sam masks make you *think* Americaland is nothing but a beautiful dream, but I assure you, it takes real dollars to keep those fuckin' midgets performing night after night in Americaland Presents: An All Midget Revue!

Sadness is for poor people.

Arkansas=Awesome new [re: Tristan]

Assuming I've got the idea of this establishment correct, this would certainly make me reconsider my self-imposed lifetime ban on strip clubs. Simply, wow.

Speaking of amusement parks, does anyone else live for the shoddy 'stunt spectaculars' they put on at Six Flags, with the actors' (poorly) overdubbed lines competing with the gouts of fake fire for the opportunity to blast your senses out? Such goodness.

Sadness is for poor people.
