Picture flooding new

Some people have been (quite rightly) told off for posting big pictures, rather than supplying links as it can be difficult for slower internet connections to load them up. The same holds true for the picture flooding which is going on in the coffee shop by our Liberace Fan. I know this post is exactly what a dick-head like him/her craves, but nevertheless, I think crap like that is really pissing people off, and will stop people even bothering to come here anymore.

We all like a joke, but this mass bombing is not funny, it is just tedious and if I had a slow connection I would just not bother even attempting to read coffee shop posts.

I haven't got a signature at the moment.

Whereas mods may/will--in order to maintain as much expressive freedom as is possible--edit picture posts--particularly those deemed large and/or irrelevant-- by anons--for example by deleting all but 1 (one) of redundant expressions.

This is not an "either/or" selection. Vote in both polls as both actions are possibilities.

Here is an example of removing redundancy. I simply deleted 3 of the 4 duplicate images!~

go get them [re: ohramona]

In my book, posts that are clearly just meant to annoy, rather than bring any value to any reader, are fair game. Just delete.

Another thing, if I were a mod and I was reading a thread that was stretched beyond my browser's width because some asshole had posted an uninterrupted string of characters or pictures, I would not hesitate to edit it.

Thirded. I, too, have dial-up and am often driven bonkers by the very same.

It is my opinion and I am unanimous in this, because it is my opinion, which is, in fact, mine.

Glad to know I'm not doing any harm by editing those.

Otherwise... I've got broadband these days, but I remember the time when I could only visit TW from school computers that had the crappiest connection ever. If I accidentally stumbled on one of Claude's picture threads, it would take several minutes for all the images to load. On more than one occasion the browser froze completely. So yeah, as a TW user, I would hugely appriciate it if any and all larger images were made into links.

I think that moderation of posts by people who can't bother to register or stay logged in could easily be done with a heavy hand. Yes, I did just post that.

Is it possible to make markup disabled for Anon posters? I might be showing my ingnorance by asking that.
