Ant, your IP couldn't have been banned otherwise you would not have been able to sign in to receive PMs

Which means I was told a load of bull, not surprising really

In reply to:

Regardnig alters, I have to agree with Rabbifighter, some of the more well formed alters are almost like real people and without them this could be a dull place. When someone creates an alter with its' own unique personality, it can be a work of art. Just imagine how this place has been brightened by the likes of Elsie the Cow, the Pope etc.

Art yes I agree, fun yes also, but where do you draw the line with an alter you find amusing and one you despise?

Maybe allowing only one alter per member if they must have them.

A while ago Monkeyboy wanted hard fast guidelines on what is and isn't acceptable here, and he was never given it.

That was a a joke as I read it.

In reply to:

I have always found our moderators to be approachable and usually fair but if they aren't here to moderate and stop some of the mindless inanity then we need people who are.

I too have found EJ and Sys to be very friendly as mods, has it ever crossed your mind the mods are too busy having fun at being alters in this mad month of August

No, Monkeyboy has, on two or three occasions brought up the subject, and sadly it has usually been taken as a joke, but I believe it was a subject he was very serious about. If there are no rules, how can someone know when they have broken them?

Re: The Revolutionary Post new [re: eraserhead]

Remembering well the tough discussion with p2c a while ago there is one thing people here should decide first before they move on to discussiong persons: Do you want more moderating (as expressed in this thread) or less moderating (as in most of the discussions I was involved with before). Or maybe even the way it is now.

And I want to believe
In the madness that calls 'now'

We all have the right to be serious or lighthearted depending on the post.

We sure do, but on this occasion I think the word poster more appropriate.

I'm not playing devils advocate with him anymore, It has become tiresome and very repetitive.

I'm against bozoing period but boy have I been tempted lately.

In reply to:

Now, in theory, Marquis strikes us all as a terrible choice for moderator. But in practice? I'd say not so terrible.

I can just see the crowds spread before the dais now, RabbitFighter and JarethsGirl proudly hoisting posterboards emblazoned with the ultimate campaign slogan:

MARQUIS 4 MOD
"Not So Terrible as You'd Think"

Seriously, though, for all my bitching, I've never had too much beef with the mods, and while I'm sure I would evince a more levelheaded, less shouty, and all-around Moderatorial style if I were conscripted into the Great Service, I'm in no hurry to give EJ and the Gang the bum's rush.

Literature is [the art] best suited to challenging absolutes of all kinds. Because it is in its origin the schismatic Other of the sacred (and authorless) text, so it is also the art most likely to fill our god-shaped holes

Re: The Revolutionary Post new [re: EJSunday]

I want less moderating done by an anonymous moderator. I'm sick and tired of the mob mentality promoted by this public moderating.

Moderating should be done by people who have no friends here because otherwise they will always be biased when making a decision on whose account to burn next. It would be much easier if people didn't know who the moderator is because they wouldn't know who to bug for stupid little things all the time.

Threads should be deleted IF AND ONLY IF they contain illegal stuff. Deleting a thread cuz it's hurtin' someone's feelings is stupid and futile. The Internet is not for fragile people!

The Factual Post new [re: eraserhead]

TW doesn't need moderating, it needs fresh users and/or the consistent use of former posters, which is an unlikelihood -- In the meantime where's the sense in the acquisition of moderators when there's fuck all to moderate?

You people have the brainpower of dead ants & as much imagination as a caravan site.
