if you point us to that post in which you blew Shelle.

OK, by popular demand, here is the post in which I first made public my suspicion about Shelle - it's not really the same as blowing (in any of its meanings), I'll give you that.
Also note that my avatar was at that time provided by Infidel. Shows that I was indeed, in Shelle's words, mad as a bag of cats around then.

Ancient stuffs new [re: Marquis]

Hey Marquis! That vm message must have been from a couple years back...? As I recall you only recently visited SF, which is when we shoulda tried to meet up, seeing I'm north of there. Kind of figured you were po'd at me for some such malarky here. Hope you had a hoot and a holler.

On topic, back to a point I brought up and got rather slammed for... I still believe the mods should be more proactive here. The example I used doesn't equal censorship... I am in no way for censorship. What I am for is weeding out deadweight and certain useless alter ego posts. The mod I am thinking of does not remove things willy nilly. She sniffs out baggage and possible aliases who abuse their posting. The board is good, full of colorful fucking language, but not full of needless pm-like posts and bizarre photo, memory heavy, threads. Mind you I am referring to Penn and Teller's site, and they're not for the squimish. So, I figure more involved moderating could clean up this joint a pinch and, perhaps, encourage others to join or come back. That is the goal, right? If it's not, I'll shuddup and go play in redder pastures.

It is my opinion and I am unanimous in this, because it is my opinion, which is, in fact, mine.

Difficult:
- Apparently many here see their alter egos as an integral part of their presence on TW and wouldn't want to give them up.

- Most if not all alter egos are not created by Newbies or people who just drop by occasionally but by well known members who exactly know what they are doing. And obviously they think it is good because otherwise they wouldn't be doing it.

- Some of the alters are brilliant, I think, but tastes about that seem to differ so it is difficult to single the "right" ones out.

Personally I totally agree that the alter ego thing is what makes it more and more annoying to come here and take part in the discussions. But again: as the alters are made basically by people who have been here long enough to know it seems to be the choice of many here to turn the board into what it is becoming. And for the above mentioned reasons I'd rather call on those alter ego masters to change their habits instead of asking the moderators to fulfill a deleting/banning job which is almost impossible to do correctly.

And I want to believe
In the madness that calls 'now'

Alrighty then new [re: Monkeyboy]

I will be in LA this Wednesday for three days. The first day will be spent sleeping but I still need to work out what to do for the next 2 days and work out where to stay. If you have time catch up on Thursday or Friday during the day, just PM me. The places I wouldn't mind seeing:

* Amoeba Records
* Bowie's star on the walk of fame
* Doheny Drive, Bel Air, Beverley Hills
* Santa Monica Beach (possibly)
* Disneyland (possibly)

Re: Alrighty then new [re: Adam]

If you're talking about this Wednesday as in this very week we are experiencing in all it's greatness right now then I have to be a dick and say no. But if you're talking about the first Wednesday in September I could probably do a lunchy meetup thing. True, I'd have to leave after about an hour but it might be fun to see how odd your accent is.

Or if you're up for movies and Mexicans, you can always hitch a ride 60 mins East to my lovely drive in:

My terrifying home away from home before the nightly gang meetings and
drug dealings. We don't have jumper cables because "you never know who
might need a jump." (Actual quote from the guy who I replaced.)

I'm posting this here so that the general public can get excited about the possibility of us meeting.

how many drinks can we down in one hour? new [re: Monkeyboy]

It's already Thursday evening in Melbourne so yep, I'm talking about the first Wednesday in September. The drive-in looks.....interesting......but I don't like my chances of survival hitchiking in LA.
