Re: Diplo (Question Mark) new [re: SoulLoveChild]

In reply to:

THIS is the classic example of why this entire board is degenerating so quickly...otherwise smart posters like yourself and Marquis who suddenly have absolutely NOTHING else to talk about.

Eh, I don't know. Marquis' and company's posts dedicated to how shitty dogz' posts are are much more interesting, at least to me, than dogz' shitty posts.

Which brings me back, I suppose, to the topic of the thread.

Okay, the stuff I like are the drawn-out arguments about stuff. Like on Mousey's post- you know, the one I can't be bothered searching for. I like reading the arguments about things (not the shit-slingling ones, because they get boring quick) because some of the people here are actually insightful and witty and all that garbage.

I love Site Feedback. Especially lately. Interesting stuff always happens in Site Feedback. Unless Beltene posts a thread.

The stuff I hate is questions about Bowie (ie. What album should I buy next?), picture threads of any sort, and just generally posts that aren't funny or don't garner interesting conversation. I usually don't like the music threads- the 'which band is better, X or Y?' ones- 'cause most of the time I don't like either band anyway.

round and round the mull-bury bush!! new [re: Humbert]

As Starlite said

In reply to:

Which becomes a problem when you realize that poster A's "crap" is poster B's "quality thread."

So yeah, kind of sums up what you just said.

But back on topic, I don't come to TW to read about how much certain members dislike other members posting methods. And that's all i seem to be reading these days.

Anyways, I'm moving interstate soon, hopefully a few weeks off the boards will cure me of whatever boredom I'm feeling. Who knows, a New Career in a New Town may keep me off here for good.

BTW, I'm ambivalent about picture threads. They're ok in small doses (now that I have broadband). But this is exceptional, I haven't seen such a fine selection of quality Bowie pics in quite a while.

I was sorta trying to show that, y'know. Or something. I mean, I knew that that was what Starlite was saying, and so I was just mentioning that just like you might hate the complaining posts, I might like them.

U r a compelling argument for compulsory retiremen new [re: Marquis]

In reply to:

I'm not really surprised that you'd say that, considering it has no grounding in reality and is only designed to annoy me

I imagine that's your approach to all criticism. "Oh, wow, but he's only saying that to annoy me, because they're couldn't possibly be any grain of truth in it, seen as I'm perfect".

If you can't see how
(a) posting long post after long post complaining about how other posters suck and this place sucks in your usual tedious style with only the occasional relief of a post related to the minutae of your daily life that could only be of possible interest to those who know you intimately
(b) jumping straight down the throat of any new poster you feel is trying to upstage you, with grammar corrections even when you lack the expertise to be right, "You're an obvious alter" accusations and exhortations on how to post so that they might better please you
(c) repeating over and over the same few "in jokes" about regulars that were never that funny to start with

might suck the fun out of this place for a lot of people, well, then, I guess there's not much I can do to help you.

In reply to:

Sort of, but isn't the main thrust of these arguments always quantity rather than quality?

You post way more than you should too, you know, given that you have little or nothing left to say, and lack the grace to say that little in entertaining fashion. See SLC's comment for further evidence.

In reply to:

you've only got to wade through another 400 or so posts from me

Or you could do us a favour and stick a fork in your posting career. It's been dead a long time anyway, apart from the occasional entertaining fight.

Neat try to upset me Matthew and I must say I find your post referring to my dear departed sister extremely bad taste, she along with me would laugh at your stupidity.

In reply to:

That would never do for Persilot. He likes draught. A lot.

Well I prefer cask, but I'll drink to that...

Anyway too much doom and gloom around here for my liking on a Friday night. Tis time to party.
