Bowie Wonder World

Bowie Wonder-world

So what’s are official stand with the rival Bowie Site. Does anyone go over occasionally? They seem a lot more friendly than we our but there conversations seem a little bit boring.
One good thing about BWW is they have a chat room that works. Why do we not have a chat room that works by the way?

I used the search over there and typed in Teenage Wildlife and it come with this and much much more!
• Yes Everyone on Teenage Wildlife is pretty much Young. I tried it there but they were all so....Pesstimistic about....well... EVERYTHING! I would stay away from there If I were you.
• I find it pretty disgusting that you lot have an entire thread devoted to bitching and slandering an entire group of people and then have the gall to call them childish. TW's have a different way of communicating with eachother- we use alot of black humour and we aren't big users of political correctness.. opinions aren't really censored by pleasentaries. If you're too fucking ignorant to understand the way the place works and appreciate the freedom of expression offered there obviously you don't have to go there; but you don't have to try disuade others from going there either.
• The people over at Teenage Wildlife definately ARE NOT as nice as the people here at Bowiewonderworld. I made one little opinion, and the people screamed at me. And they are quite disgusting too. So I am NEVER going back there
• I used to be a part of the teenage wildlife message board until relatively recently, but I soon saw the light and went through a "traansiton".

The whole atmosphere in BWW is much better, with Teenage Wildlife MB being clogged up with personal vendetta's, and people who cannot accept or respect other peoples opinions.

I just want to praise you Wonderworlders for making this a excellent atmosphere for discussion, and keep up the chattin!
• A bit slow aren’t you I must be "from" Teenage Wildlife! LOL
• Simon
I had a look over and my jaw dropped.
I do try to see things from other people's point of view, but could only assume these people had mistaken a Bowie fan's chatroom for a 'bored twat-room'!
You know, Nevada knows, I know, everyone else who has contributed to this debate (and I believe others who have not yet too) know there are countless reasons to go along with at least some of our suggestions, and few reasons not to.
It seems a shame to say it, but with correspondents like that, the TW site/room is a lost cause for me.
I don’t think they like us very much

What Would You Rate Bowie Wonderworld ***** being great

Did you get a secretary? new [re: JamieSim]

Well, if you want a nice, calm atmosphere where you can discuss current Bowie events, as well as the ever-interesting question "what's your favorite (______)?" BWW is a good place to go. I know that seems like I'm putting them down but I'm not. But if you want a place that is fun and usually interesting, with people that will make you laugh, cry, and vomit, we're the party people.

BWW: the person you invite to have a few drinks with and who makes sure everyone else gets home safely.
TW: your friend's cousin from out of town who leers at the other guests and takes a shit in the punch bowl but ultimately makes up for it all by being a really fun person to have around.

BWW: a site that could potentially believe that there is a cross-town rivalry between them and another Bowie site.
TW: a site where everyone thinks it's really funny that they see it that way and therefore encourage it.

BWW: the Elton John who announced that he was going to stop dressing like an idiot (insdead of just stopping) and then wrote songs for The Lion King.
TW: this fucking freak:

BWW: this
TW: a nice mix of this and this.

All in all, and I don't mean this in a mean way, I think you would be better off drooling on their board, you clueless retard.

I meant that it wasn't mean towards them, of course.

The preceding is part of a vast conspiracy to destroy this message board.

Given that Mr Kinder is a tad more on the ball than his somewhat passive TW equivalents. I think a raid might not last too long.

While the idea of banishing Jamie there has merit, I like some of the people at BWW. I don't think I could be that cruel to them. Then again, by the sound of it, it's too late - he's already registered there. Even if he is using a different name, his fractured command of English grammar should be possible to spot at about 5 miles.

I’ve registered over at wonder world but I don't like the way the BWW message-board isn't put I to different subject strands that’s why I have never posted plus I’m fairly established over at this end.

Sage words, Jamie old boy, sage words.

I've been wondering about your use of punctuation, having speant the last several nights at university with nothing else to do but read every single fucking post made on this site.

Do you just use it arbitrarily or does each punctuation mark have some kind of special meaning for you and you use them sparingly, like other people use emoticons?

Finally someone who understands! No I just don’t type well plus I can never be arsed to proof read that’s why I do so much editing.
TW must be the only site in the world where the use of contemporary internet language is resisted and restricted. Why can’t we join the 21st century and end all this traditional Oxbridge English crap lets do what the Germans did and simplify.

Be that as it may, there's a difference between 'simplification' and 'incoherence'.

Does contemporary internet language really forgo all puntuation barring the occasional period, apostrophe and exclamation/question in the wrong place?

This is the only website I go to with any regularity, so take that as a serious question.

But I don't actually have a problem with your use of your langauge; ascertaining what you are trying to say is all part of the thrill that comes with the engima of JamieSim

BWW = English online fan club new [re: JamieSim]

The people at BWW are certainly friendlier than we are collectively. However, I suspect you probably need to be English to get the best out of BWW: for the rest of us the atmosphere is a little too Little Englander stifling.

BWW also toes the corporate line more than TW, not just in what it reports but in what can be discussed there. However, it's Paul Kinder's site to do with as he sees fit, and he is to be commended for keeping the show on the road when other webmasters have lost interest.

I dip in and out of BWW. Usually the dipping in occurs when Bowie is doing something interesting like touring, or has just released a new album, and I'm interested in finding out what English fans think about it. Apart from that, it doesn't hold my interest for very long periods.

BWW is crap at the moment. To be honest - all the Bowie sites are crap right now. BWW had a very English sense of humour, but recently the mad continentals have started taking over and you just can't take the piss without using smilies. I refuse to use smilies just to placate the humourless twats who currently "reside" there.

That's how I see it, I've been there to read of news events but find the conversations like those to be heard in a local supermarket, way too smarmy and slighty childish at times, the atmosphere is to friendly to be taken seriously IMO.

And that I find mighty boring, for me TW is the best Bowie site for it's sheer freedom of virtually anything goes, yes we insult one another and are bastards at times, but it's that what draws me here, to a friend you can insult in a way that is taken as fun, that's how I see TW.

Besides which, signifiying umlauts with Es after the vowel in question rather than a diacritic mark over them can hardly be viewed as much of a simplification.
