You may thank Dara for my momentarily return new [re: diamondogz74]

If all of you want less moderation, aren't inactive mods the perfect choice? Instead of looking to replace the current ones, you should cherish us for letting you do whatever you wish.

In reply to:

If you are unwell Sys you could at least let us know.

I am well, there's nothing physically or emotionally wrong with me (well, nothing more than the usual, anyway). I apologise for not informing people ('xcept for the other mods) about my leaving, but I did not want to make a fuss about my leaving.

I left because I felt I had nothing further to contribute to these boards. I've said all there is to say about Bowie, most of those things far too many times, I've lost most of my interest in Bowie and his music, and I've never cared very much for the non-Bowie conversations here. So leaving seemed like the most sensible option.

I might return full time someday. Or I might not.

Firstly welcome back and I'm pleased your are well, you say you left because you felt you had nothing left to contribute, that maybe how you feel right now? but I think you have a lot to contribute, there are new members wanting to know sometimes the obvious and it should be your job to help them rather than let others rip them to shreads.

It saddens me to read that, but I'm sure it's just a passing phase, we all have these from time to time.

Yeah, Sysyio, what gives? I can't believe that just because you don't have anything to post at TW that you wouldn't at least want to stick around and babysit the newbies.

Hardy har har.

Your stereotypical New Yorker cynicism aside, there are still a few friendly souls here who help new people and help smooth what can be a very rocky transition by being friendly and helpful behind the scenes. If it wasn't for Adam, Dara, Pablo and a few others, I'd have left by now and not come back.

I like dogs. You always know what a dog is thinking. It has four moods. Happy, sad, cross and concentrating. Also, dogs are faithful and they do not tell lies because they cannot talk.

I thought your father was a New Yorker? Or was that New Yorker you meant?

In either case, I'm all for helpfulness - I just disagree with Dogz' assessment that Sysyio has an obligation to stick around and answer questions if he doesn't want to.

Hmm, maybe we ought to have new moderators? I think I'll start a thread.

Oh shit I am replying to this thread again. [re: diamondogz74]

If someone is not interested in the subject matter, and they have in all intent retired from the board, then their level of enthusiasm for the helping of newbies etc is going to be extremely lacking. Evan put one administrator and four moderators here for a purpose, surely if some of the ones who were appointed no longer care enough to do the job, others should be chosen/appointed/voted in who will give the position the attention Evan thought it deserved.

As I have said before, moderators are not just about censorship, part of their role is to help the other members and also, something which EJ does well in V+Q, encourage discussion.

Ant, you have messed up your mark-up with remarkable results
