it might not be a bad idea to redo the old Alphabetical Bowie Survivor thing

I'm up for it. I missed the last one and it sounds like fun.

Re: The decline of TW new [re: K]

I think it would be good to give Adam/Evan one last shot at retooling this site. If Evan simply has moved on to better things (w/better health too), that's fine. That would open the door to either handing over this site to a worthy person or persons OR allow a new one to be created using this one to direct folks to the new one.

Other whistles and bells, mentioned here, could come after the big decisions are made. My 2 bits.

This said in agreement w/you, K, based on the length of time I've been here ('97) and the obvious stagnation of the past few years. This one being the worst.

It is my opinion and I am unanimous in this, because it is my opinion, which is, in fact, mine.

Re: I'm not even a "real" Bowie fan anyways new [re: K]

i wonder if it would be possible to let the mainpage grab news from some other bowie site news engine. there are several fan projects which mainly consist of a news site, some features but lack some kind of community. so merging together one of them with TW would make the most sense to me.

That's actually a very good idea.

Dead main page is what kills this site, not some *yawn* personal wars going on inside the CP.

Maybe we should consider starting a Teenage Wildlife Version 2 ... and just moving there.

Once, but not now.

Finally, Dogz, like I've said before... if you think I'm a bad moderator (and you have every right to think so), then take it up with Adam and request my resignation. I welcome it.

On the chance you might view this before logging on, I do not think you are a bad moderator, a tad lazy, maybe, cynical yes, might I suggest that you simply resign, why should I ask for your dismissal, if you are fedup with moderating? quit.

You could do what EJ had done very successfully, create a non moderator member for yourself, thus enabling you to speak your mind non-partisan, so to speak.

Dogz, keep it cool. Obvious disagreements between you and K are not the reason for TW's stated decline. And that fund raising sentence is indeed hilarious.

On the decline matter: Strawman has long ago suggested that willing TWers could take over the site's operations and its technical and financial maintenance if Evan would allow us to. I still believe that this would be a good and possible solution as well as I believe that this would make the site more lively and thus more attractive for us and for new members to come.

I'd be in for that.

And I want to believe that a light's shining through somehow

So would I, I like the idea very much, but these members would have to adhere to the fair play moderating line.

I rearly have any, if little quibbles with K, like most things on here, it is all blown out of proportion through boredom and lack of any new Bowie material.

Roll on thew next new album.

So that's the end to it then, I fear.

I do agree that that would definately be the best solution. However, the problem is getting in touch with Evan and having the nescessary changes done. If we were able to to pull this off, I too would be willing to help working on the site, as far as my limited skills allow.

Maybe we should redo TW in a Wikipedia-like interphase where any user could edit the information on the main site. That way we'd have the entire Bowie community as people helping upkeep the site and hence have the most up-to-date and complete information.
