This is related to my "kiddie porn" thing but it is really meant to become a more general discussion.

I understand that the mods are basically making up the rules as they go along. I guess I can make my peace with that. But how out of line are we, the common posters, to ask that anything deleted and/or altered in our posts be backed up with some sort of firm justification?

Take this "kiddie porn" thing for example. Instead of saying something like "I'm deleting your post because it makes me uneasy" how about "I'm deleting your post because (insert logical reason)". I know it's probably unfair for me to use a current issue but I swear that, at least in this thread, it's only an example.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the thankless job of a moderator. I just wish the huge brass balls didn't swing around so recklessly sometimes. Or, to be somewhat nicer, I think that if you guys offered a little more to be held accountable for it might make life a little more pleasant for everyone.

I just think that someone who demands decency from others must have a lot of decency himself. Otherwise such a demand wouldn't be justified. And as you demand it intensely you sure have a lot of it - otherwise you certainly wouldn't ask for it from others. That's it.
