you've made enough comments on the issue to suggest that you really believe that there is sexism at work in the awarding of custom titles.
....when exactly? Half the posts I make about sexism nowadays are tongue-in-cheek, mostly to annoy Monkeyboy.
But if we are gonna get serious, I've always felt that the "there are bigger fish to fry" objection is bullshit. People do not have some kind of strictly finite activism rescources, and me complaining about some minor infraction online for 3 minutes a day in no way means that I am not active in other areas. But even if it did--the fish still needs frying, and someone ought to do it. And no matter how minor an issue, if it can get somebody involved to consider that their actions are perhaps motivated by problematic factors, that's something already. It's not all about the big showy things. If I had to consider whether there are "bigger fish" for every act of activism I chose to pursue, I would be rendered immobile in constantly weighing the options. Also, for instance, I would then feel that any activism of behalf of women's rights or queer rights in this country were a waste of time, because women and queers in third-world countries have it so much worse, and surely I ought to focus on that.
But no, geez, I was never really serious about the sexism. Only Monkeyboy would think so, because he really really wishes it were true. He also thought I was serious here, so I think recognition of self-parody is not his strong suit.

I did? That's odd, I didn't think I did.
I guess you would know.

Well, either you were playing the straight man in that thread, getting all angry at my supposed showing off usin' them fancy words, or you did indeed think I was serious. I'd think you'd have played along at making fun of my pomposity rather than getting angry if you saw I was joking. You basically admitted as much a few posts later.
In reply to:
Blah blah blah.
Not parodying dumb feminists, parodying myself. And myself only.
I stand behind my feminism, I am just amused at the image you have created for me, and enjoy playing it up.

As what I hope will be my final contribution to this debate (at least on this thead, I can't wait for all the posts I find in CS) I'd like to say that if one person would have deserved a premature custom title, it would have been WildWind.
Yes, a girl.
