It does seem to be possible, so if you really want it it could be done. But strictly speaking a change from the current system is still a custom title. On the technical side, removing the title will probably not remove the pathensis so your name would be displayed thus:

Rules rules rules. You speak as if this 'no custom title' rule is somehow codified in international law. Rules cannot just be broken, they can also be changed, thrown out, or weilded mercilessly by tinpot dictators.

If enough people want a custom title, how about having a twin criteria like needs to have X number of posts and have been regeistered for Y length of time?
