I can't say I'd know what was going on in Adam's mind when he did that (you'd be better off asking him), but my impression is that he wanted to remove all material that specifies him as the main TW admin (presumably to stop any additional threats of legal action coming his way). You obviously can't see it, but he took down a whole bunch of stuff in the mods only -forum as well.

As to the circumstances of my elevation... Adam said he was looking to retire, and after some consideration I volunteered as the new admin.
