Lady Stardust new [re: StrangeDrugs]

in Lady Stardust I always heard "and he was up all night" instead of "and he was awful nice"

Candidate demo

"She's a real Brill Quim queen"
"She's a real Brill cream Queen"

I forget like my versions better than whatever the proper line as intended.

<<rebel rebel - "you like it old">>

Maybe rebel rebel is a song about aged cheddar?

Aged cheddar? Hmm... I didn't know cheeses wore dresses.

According to Conan OBrian, a cob of corn can wear Bowie clothing, so why not a chunk of cheese?

Don't know if this has been said already, but in a Q Mag q&a with bowie one fan stated that the line 'that only they can share in' in Soul Love sounds a heck of a lot more like 'the dawn of bacon sharing'...

also i always hear 'turn to face the strain' instead of 'turn to face the stranger' on changes :)

Re: Intentionally misheard lyrics [re: ScreamingByron]

Until the moment I read the last post I always thought the line in Changes was "Turn and face the strange." Thought it meant embrace the outsider. Oh well.

I always sing "Let me touch you" instead of "I'll never touch you" on Breaking Glass. Makes the song sexier, plus in the beginning I thought that's what he was saying.

And I change the lyrics every time I listen to Velvet Goldmine, because he's going so fast I usually can't make them out anyway.

Re: Intentionally misheard lyrics new [re: ScreamingByron]

Oooh, forgot one. I don't know if it's been mentionned, but in 1984, I've always heard "I'm looking for the trees that I knew in '65" rather than "I'm looking for the treason that I knew in '65". hahahaha. My version doesn't make much sense.
