Who Sings Ziggy?
|
|
|
I was listening to Ziggy this afternoon and the question came to me, if db was performing the album in the persona of Ziggy Stardust, who sings the actual title track? It is in hte third person, about Ziggy. Is this a sort of narrator?
Wanna come inside and meet the missus?

I think there have been speculations about this / the narrators of the other songs on the album before...not sure if that thread has been archived or not. Either way, I can't find it.
Does anyone else remember that thread? Maybe it wasn't Ziggy themed to start with?

It is not known who is singing. He is not Ziggy, nor is he Weird or Gilly.

Maybe it's his manager?

In reply to:

In that case the song would probably go like: "The man is dead and the sales are rising, hooray for me..."

I think it is sung from a band member's perspective... I've always seen it that way.

Yeah, actually I've always felt it's actually sung from Ronno's point of view.

I think it's either sung by a band member or manager..but switches into a fan's point of view at times.

I always assumed it was from The Spider's point of view. And the song is sung from past perspective. All the events had already happened by the time the song begins. 'played' guitar; he 'was' the nazz; etc
one curious line for me is : 'When the kids had kill the man, we had to break up the band.'
hhhm....i hope that line is right....bad recall right now.
The question is, who is the 'we'.....The Spiders, management.
