I'm sure this has probably been talked about before, but I have looked for another thread on this same topic and I haven't been able to find one. If this is a duplicate question then please direct me to where this discussion has already taken place.
Can someone explain to me what the word "nazz" means? I have done some searching on Google and I haven't been able to come up with the answer.
Is that lyric a reference to the 60's band called "The Nazz" ?

The explanation I always heard was that Nazz was a cute abbreviation for "Nazarene", ie, messiah.
I'm not satisfied with that. So what does Nazz mean in nadsat, anyway?

The Todd Rundgren band? Dunno, but they got their name from 'The Nazz are Blue', on the flipside of a Yardbirds single.

Nazz was/is London-slang for nattiest.

It just means he was the coolest guy around- clockwork orange terminology, like in sufragette city "droogie dont crash here"
