The original is much, much better than the 90 remix. I've never liked that remix anyways.

Itīs pretty different and a bit better but nothing special. Fame was and is the weakest cut on Young Americans

I think 'Fame' is one of the strongest points of Young Americans, I prefer it much better than the song 'Young Americans'. Fame was Bowie's first American no.1 single!

Chart succes has very little to do with actual quality of the song. Bowie has released a multitude of better songs as singles than Fame with far worse chartratings. I can understand why some people like (or even love) Fame but in my opinion it brings down the quality of YA album together with Across the universe in the end. He should have sticked to the original songselection.

I think the album works fine, I love Fame. I can see why some think differently though because Fame does stand out as different. I think it's good because it's almost leading off to the next album Station to Station.

I'm with skellaway on this one. Fame is brilliant.

Oh, I totally disagree about Across the Universe. I love DB's version! All that "nothing, nothing, nothing!" screaming at the end is just . . . almost primal! I love it.

I actually like Across the universe very much, it just feels out of place on YA. Sticking to the original tracklisting would have produced a much more coherent album. Well, atleast Tony Visconti agrees with me.
