Anyone know who Jasmine is?

Erm, it's not "creeping" but "peeping" . I know thanks to Laughing-Gnoome that the jasmine is a flower symbol of love in some Asiatic countries, but I don't think anyone knows *who* or *what* it is supposed to represent. I'm not even sure Bowie thought about this flower when he wrote the song: it could be a wink to "Aladdin" Sane too .

I thought it was "I saw you beat me" It made absolutely no sense to me. Maybe Jasmine was his lover in those days or something... It's a beautiful name nevertheless

Sorry, it was a very stupid joke of mine referring to Disney's Aladdin .

I always thought it was a reference to a lover too: he saw her face when he was speeding up, or something like that.

Jasmine is in the back of the car and Bowie see's her peeping at him in the driver's mirror. He gives her a wry grin and hits the accelerator.

I love the story that goes along with that song. Bowie and Iggy got screwed over in a heroin deal while living in Germany. They pile into their car and start driving around looking for the dealer. They find him driving around and ram his car with theirs. Then they back up...and do it again. And again...

Sounds like fun....
