Well, that's you Americans. Visconti is American. Bowie is English. English people are not systematically circumcized and you generally don't need lubrication to masturbate when you are not circumcized. In Europe, lubrication more often than not means anal sex.

According to this webpage, a little under a third of British men in Bowie's age bracket are circumcized. That's not a majority, although I admit it's a fairly large group.

That rate is not as high as I had supposed, but, as you say, it's still a significant figure. It's amazing what the human animal is capable of doing to even its own progeny...
