hypercycles, 'ziggy', cut-ups ect. new

if anyone has any information on these subjects, it would be much appreciated,
as i'm sure these few things would answer many questions..

also, so far i've gathered a few other impressions of things
and questions on a basket of subjects..:

relations(and/or tensions) of 3rd,4th,&5th dimensional space
atomic implications of music or sound(john cage-ish, i think)
+'black noise' and 'black hole kids/infintes' by my indexical
knowledge; - this as refering to the interview with W.S. Burroughs
that he did.
old 'power myths' or myths of power containment/power source
(Jung has things on this, i believe)
+the 'electricity' of 'Ziggy'(also refering to the interview), the burning bush ect.
ect.
many of these impressions are articulated on 'Aladdin Sane'.
i suppose the formula would be Z = A, by a 'aufhebung' concept
-(but what isn't?).

i'm sorry if what i've assembled it seems idiotic or marginal.
any answers would help much. thanks

Try google. Also try fiveyears.com for some good Ziggy stuff. There are a couple of really good cut-up websites, too. Good luck.

thanks very much, zigbot.
i
also, i remembered picasso and einstein and wonder about 'Greenwich' thing (where the 'infinites' arrive- being respectively the centre of world time) and that one the back 'ziggy' is seen in a red telephone booth(i think that was a reference to something in science fiction where someone would teleport through it..

any other information?

Yeah, I agree that it was Greenwich, London rather than Greenwich New York for the reason you described. That said, there was a black New Yorker that was to be used in Bowie's play.

That's very cool. I wouldn't be surprised if it has some science fiction grounding. Remember, a telephone has to do with number programming....just like Time and a London telephone booth by it's own nature is something of a time artefact. So what you say really seems quite plausible....especially considering that this was well before the age of the personal computing and more modern electronics. I am also reminded of the lovely and strange subtitle "Through a Telephone Box Darkly" courtsey of Philip Sanderson's Suicide Suite.

Yes, I wrote an extensive thread on some of these topics once here. One of my more interesting findings was how alien anti-matter was to take human form and how it was strikingly similar to the 1984 blockbuster film titled........'Starman'. Any more information on this would be appreciated.

Do I see the basis of a Ziggy play coming into fruition?

"The TARDIS (an acronym of Time And Relative Dimensions In Space) is a fictional time travelling machine in the British television programme Doctor Who. (TARDIS is a registered trademark of the British Broadcasting Corporation.) In the narrative of the show, a properly piloted and working TARDIS is capable of transporting its occupants to any point in all of space and time. "

"The Doctor's TARDIS appears from outside to be an ordinary blue British Police Box (a phone booth designed for police communications)."

Re: Ziggy in the Tardis new [re: Adam]

thank you very much, adam

yeah, i've read that post. i've read it twice i think. very informative -thats what got me to this one.

you know what? i forgot telephones even had numbers on them!!=)

i'd like to see bowie do a play, or something, with it. i heard that was the idea in 74'. i've seen 'Starman' a few times. the scene when he comes in is always my favorite -i guess for the aspects you've stated. 'Through A Telephone Booth Darkly's good too.

that adds much to it, when you reduce it just data and computing it. now, with computers being so dominant, i think its even easier for me to understand -as its a common fixture in our environment.

a few things you've gotten me to think about too...:

where was 'ziggy' before this?

what does computers and telephones do to time?

whats the concept of 'hypercycle'?(i have no idea)

on TARDIS, does that mean 3rd dimensional spaces or relative dimensions as in 2nd and 4th?

how does Bowie 'living his dream' affect space-time exsistence, or what does one feel this imples?

as with 'cut-ups', one thought is that everything is cut up through time and space and of a universe in constant destruction/erasure and regeneration/traces(an old hebrew concept as well).
as with Bowie's(and Burrough's) collage style, or 'cut-ups'(ziggy being a statement "first post-modern star"), one is able to shift back in forth through the plot-time track in a sentence or snapshot. what do you think this means? and does that imply a 4th dimensional time frame?

one thing, on matter and anti-matter, i thought about is from Burroughs(The Ticket That Exploded), where he talks of 'viruses' that can't exist in our (3 dimensional space) and don't exist in time that use our space, or coordinates of our space, to manifest themselves(a form of cut-up itself). also, the history of the 'word' (or eidos=icon=idea=sign?).

also, in one theory, a computer (or electronics in general i should say) processes what we would process, for example, with 'Doves' and "Woman" in place with 0s and 1s, right? so with that in mind how does one suppose the transference of information, including anti-matter into matter, work or what are the implications?
ect.
any thoughts?

thanks, again

i made a website mainly dealing with the cutup method some years back called the garden of delights, and i have lots of links on the links page (though some of the sites are no longer with us...).

my bowie site: http://bulletprooffaces.net - now in 6 languages.

That is your page? I've been a fan of it for ages. Did you also design that flash dream machine program?

FYI, there is a great article by Genesis Breyer P-Orridge in Book of Lies: The Disinformation Guide to Magick and the Occult, which deals with his/her magickal apprenticeship under Burroughs and Gysin. It's a great read and contains some interesting anecdotes about the tape cut-ups and how Burroughs and Gysin used them to hack into "reality" and bring about changes in the supposedly physical world

There's no business like the Devil's business.
