You MUST be a young fan if you think your question belongs in the "Interpretation" forum.
Just busting your chops. I'm 39, so not the "young" Bowie buddy you're looking for.

Yeah, we're all between about 13 and 19. Most fans grow out of Bowie in college, so you'll find a pretty young crowd here. All the prom season posts are great. Stick around for those. My mom's been all over me recently to clean my room and spend less time online, so I've had less time to discuss Bowie, but I still watch Labyrinth as often as I can. Has anyone seen The Man Who Fell to earth? I'm not allowed to watch it 'til Blockbuster will let me rent it on my own. I guess there's nudity or something in it, so I can't rent it for like three more years or something. NEway, cool to see another young fan here. All the old farts like zigbot, who replied above, can get annoying trying to talk about forum-this and forum-that, being all serious and stuff. Lighten up, guys! You're soooo not punk rock!! (96dbFreak's another one to watch out for.) LOL

Dem is fightin' words, dukewhite. I am sooooooo punk rock I can't stand it! When you're finally old enough for me to smack you without it being child abuse, I'd duck if I were you. Now go clean your room like your mommy asked--and get off the damn Internet.

Who votes we make a special preteen forum? Of course, this would go for all alter egos who claim to be tweenies or labygirls, as well.
Wait a tick. I was 15 when I registered, and was browsing/posting anon at 14... Well that explains the user name, eh? ...I hate me.
Well at least we know there's hope, right? I mean, look how I turned out....... Oh.

Hey, which one of you guys left the door open? ...And tore it off the hinges and threw it in the yard.

I'm 15 and been a Bowie fan for about 6 years. The first album I got of his was '...hours' also. I didn't know what to get first. There aren't very many Bowie fans my age around this one horse town. It's sooo lonely without Bowie fans...that's why I joined this place and BowieNet.

I'm only 16, but I find it hard comprehending people at the age of 9 listening to Bowie and actually liking/understanding/giving a toss about it. Enough anyway to follow it through.
Ive been into Bowie for about 2 years now anyway...in case you were wondering.

I think it is great, the age range of fans on here and generally, until I found this place, I really felt I was the only Bowie fan, as no-one I know really likes him like I do, they like certain songs but that's it, and seeing people in their teens or even younger getting hooked, just seems so good. It is nice to know that taste holds no age restrictions.

I have a very hard time finding other Bowie fans in Israel, not to mention fans my age. It goes something like "How can you like David Bowie? he's Nazi!" Very frustrating.

Hi! I got into Bowie in around 1973. I just smoked cigarettes and smoked the occasional reefer before then. I was really addicted in around 75 and 76 and then i started breaking glass and it was all over. I quit smoking recently and had a stroke and that kind of sucked but I like to go out sometimes and expose my pasty white ass(it compliments my wives sleek, black ass) just to have people see that there is life after Labyrinth and minotaurs. You know what? I just lied to all of you people. There is no life after Labyrinth !

my first favorite song was Space Oddity. i was about 6 or 7. it was neat, it was about astronauts and the flow of lyrics was entrancing to me.
i'm now 18 and it's still my favorite song. it seems to have grown up with me - in that i understand it more and more.
The big thing for me was to buy the Best Of.... 2 disc set. It had a few songs i knew i knew and the rest i didn't know i knew. (if that makes any sense). i'll risk sounding like a stupid teenager and say that any time i buy another album, it seems like i know it already. I either feel like i've heard it somewhere, or that it's pouring out of me. very odd.
since then i have become a completist of his collection. not there yet...

I'm 23 and got into Bowie right before Hours...
My first Bowie-buy was Little Wonder, the edition with the four remixes. The first full album i bought was Hours...
By then, I already owned a tape with the compilation Changes on it.
After that, I started with the Glamrock-period, then the Berlin-era and after that pretty much everything that was left.
I don't know much young Bowie-fans though, most of them only know 'space oddity' and 'let's dance', a few associate him with glamrock.
So it's a full time job trying to convert them... I managed to save a few souls, but i'm afraid most of humanity is lost
This ain't no party This ain't no disco This ain't no fooling around
