i don't think so. I think he is implying that all one has experienced, learnt, do, etc... in our life, the totality of it all is brought together and becomes whole as we go into our deaths.

..He might mean that one gets reincarnated and attends a better school than the one in a previous life.

Knowlegde with a capital "K" as in Thruth with a capital "T". When crossing the border from life to death we'll finally know what this life has all been about...or not, if there's nothing behind that frontier. Spiritually regarded we could also say that the real Truth (with the capital "T") will be ours after the death of our Ego (lower-self) and finally the death of our Self (higher Self or consciousness) where no such thing as a Self remains... Don't forget the song has a strong Buddhist theme! Don't believe in your "Self"... He also gives us our potential as human beings when he sings " I'm not a prophet or a stone age man Just a mortal with the potential of a superman". One of the problems facing us realising the potential is "I'm torn between the light and dark", i.e. Duality. Bardo is definitely a Buddhist expression and could also be connected with the dying of the Ego and Self, because Bardo is the intermediate state after the death of first the Ego and then secondly of the Self. (see Bernadette Roberts' What is Self? for more on this..)
Well, I'll leave it at this...

Kinda, Strawman.
It's pretty obviously a reference to an afterlife and the knowledge made available after death there, though I don't think he means the traditional Heaven/Hell thing.
I do in fact think he believed in reincarnation at the time he wrote the song.

I swear I was trying to be funny with that line, Starzy.
Shelle was right about me and I think she was the voice for many TWers.
I find that very depressing.

I think SOS was trying to reply to this post of mine in another thread (on the bullshit faith paradox), as the posts were made at the same time, but he misfired.

It just goes to show how bored I must be with this place that I've even wandered in here to see what the one new post made in the last two weeks might be.

Yah, but that line was really funny.
Like I also said, there was a time you made me laugh more than almost anyone else here.
